An internship at Cummins India Limited was an Eureka moment on a daily basis! | Raghav's story
What is the selection process for an internship at Cummins India Limited?
The selection process for the Internship at Cummins India Limited had the following components:
- Group Discussion
- Technical Interview
- Group Discussion
- HR Interview
The first stage was Group Discussion where the topics were quite abstract. It encouraged us to think outside the box and provide real-life anecdotes. Then came the Technical Interview Round which was followed by an HR Interview. The selection process had elimination rounds at every stage. I am relieved and glad that I made it through all the rounds and finally got a chance to do an internship at Cummins India Limited.
What did I learn during my internship?
My role during my internship at Cummins India Limited was that of Marketing and Risk Management for a product launch. I learned and developed a lot of skills throughout my journey. A few valuable lessons I learned at Cummins India Limited which have helped me in life, are:
- Never doubt your abilities. Always believe that anything is possible.
- Don’t ever say ’ NO’ to learning. Learning is a never-ending process.
- Talk to people. They always have something interesting to offer only if you're genuinely interested in what they have to say.
- Solve the problem. For that, you need to correctly identify the problem first. A solved problem often sees mass adoption.
- See the bigger picture but never forget that nothing substitutes hard work.
I had to move to Pune for the internship at Cummins India Limited. However, I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Pune exploring its various cultures. The induction ceremony broke the ice for all of us. I loved the office and its picturesque surroundings. I would really love to work at Cummins India Limited because of its never-ending innovation and customer loyalty.
The key takeaway from the feedback would be to realize that your contribution to any organization should be such that the people in the organization always make use of it, even after years of you leaving the organization. That’s what is termed as true value addition and this really stuck deep in my mind.
Every day was like a Eureka Moment for me. Always learning something new, doing something new and thinking outside the box! Above all, it was a truly memorable experience!
