The Archi-Tech Summit: Exploring the integration of Architecture and Technology

IIT Madras, the top engineering institute in India for five years in a row (2016–2020) as per the National Institutional Ranking Framework of the MHRD is proud to host the Archi-Tech Summit in association with L&T Construction, organised as a part of Shaastra, the technical fest of IIT Madras in a digital format for the first time.

The Summit is a flagship event of Shaastra which provides a networking platform for its participants to interact with the pioneers of today and opportunities to enhance their expertise through a wide range of workshops, competitions, and workshops.

Previously we have successfully organized the Defence Tech Summit (2020), the Law Tech Summit (2019), and the Green Energy Summit (2018). This year’s theme for the Summit, Archi-Tech, aims to provide the stakeholders with a platform to express and explore the integration of technology in Architecture and Design to spread the ideas of innovation, sustainability, and advancement. 

The summit, this year, will be held on 27th and 28th February.

The Archi-Tech Summit was inaugurated with an online masterclass series - #TalkWithTheTop. The Archi-Tech Summit is also hosting its flagship competition Innovation Hub Design Challenge with L&T Construction as our Title Sponsor which aims to harvest the power of design to create commercial facilities that act as workplaces and community hubs to instil an innovative spirit in the organization and thus build a healthy company culture.

Panel Discussions:

• Architectural Technology: Mr Ahmed Habeeb Khan (President of CoA), Dr Jaffer AA Khan, Gautam Tewari (Founder of SmartVizX, the largest Arch-Tech startup in India), and other renowned architects
• Smart cities: Shri. Kunal Kumar (Joint Dir. Smart Cities Mission, India) and other renowned urban planners, architects

Skill Building Workshops:

• BIM: A brief introduction and a demonstration of BIM, of its uses in Design and Collaboration by one of the senior executives at L&T Construction.

• Design for a cause: The rehabilitation of Rohingya refugees A case study by Ar. Rizvi Hassan, who is a Bangladesh based architect who has been featured by the United Nations
