Meet the CAT 2020 toppers who began the year with a perfect 100 percentile. The CAT 2020 result was announced on the 2nd January 2021 by IIM Indore. MBA is a popular choice for engineering students as a means to step up their careers. Of the top scores, this year 8 were engineering students.
Of the nine CAT 2020 Toppers, five are IIT educated and the other four are IIM Indore, Integrated Management Program (IPM), BITS Pilani, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, and YMCA Institute of Engineering, graduates respectively.
Each of these path breakers has larger than life dreams and the mettle to realize them!
CAT 2020 toppers' secret of scoring 100 percentile
Vishesh Garg put nearly 10-12 hours in brushing up his skills. His habit of reading has helped him with his fluency and verbal abilities. He also mentioned that mock tests helped him to strengthen areas such as speed and establish an efficient technique to boost his performance.
Inspired by Sunder Pichai and Satya Nadella, who head Google and Microsoft tech companies, Vishesh Garg, one of the CAT 2020 topper said, "Indians lead big tech companies and I'm definitely going to try to do something like them, although I don't know if I can do something as big." Garg was an electronic engineer by trade, seeking a job in Bangalore, but returned to Solan to work from home due to the raging pandemic.
Aaryan Kapoor another lad with a perfect 100 percentile score, is a final year student at BITS, he entered an initiative called Nirman in Baas village, educating children of underprivileged families. "I want to work to make education accessible to all," said Kapoor, who is eyeing either IIM Ahmedabad or Calcutta to further pursue his MBA dreams.
Kapoor, comes from a business-cum-academic family background, and has chosen to finish his engineering degree, has always wanted to do something in finance. "Alongside my engineering, I have taken up finance," said Kapoor, who claims that the lockdown and comfort of his home gave him the privilege of focussed preparation.
Two other students missed being the top scorers by a few decimal points, from Jaipur itself. Gaurav Sharma scored 99.95 percentile and Kaivalyn Shah scored 99.93 percentile. In the elite bracket of 99 percentile, about 30 students have fixed their spots.
The past year has been that of a struggle for students. The new year gave a happy surprise to some with CAT 2020 result. MBA aspirants who were unable to score a 100 percentile in CAT 2020, take inspiration from these young guns and strap in for the fight. Whatever your score may be, the lesson you must walk away with is a clear knowledge of your strengths and weaknesses. Utilize your strengths and work on your weaknesses and surely a 100 percentile in CAT will be your reality too!
