Are you a fresh graduate seeking to gather industry-relevant skills and experience? Leading Public Sector Bank, the Central Bank of India, is inviting applications from graduates for the engagement of Apprentices, under the Apprenticeship policy of the Bank. Selected candidates will be engaged in branches/offices in the various districts at the discretion of the Bank.

The Central Bank of India was established in 1911 by Sir Sorabji Pochkhanawala with Sir Pherozeshah Mehta as Chairman, as the first commercial Indian bank completely owned and managed by Indians. 

The Bank has announced a whopping 5000 vacancies for eligible candidates who would be spread in regions across India. Following are further details of the Apprenticeship program. 

Central Bank of India Apprenticeship Program 2023: Important Details

Criteria

Details

Age

Minimum 20 years and Maximum 28 years

Qualification

Graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualifications recognized as such by the Central Government

Selection Process

Through online written examination that will consist of the following parts: 

  • Quantitative, General English, & Reasoning Aptitude and Computer Knowledge 
  • Basic Retail Liability Products 
  • Basic Retail Asset Products 
  • Basic Investment Products 
  • Basic Insurance Products 

Period of Engagement

1 Year 

Assessment and Certification 

  • After completion of apprenticeship training, apprentices will need to go through an assessment test covering both the theoretical part as well as the on-the-job training component. 
  • The theory assessment will be conducted by BFSI Sector Skill Council of India (BFSI SSC) and the Practical assessment will be conducted by the Bank. 
  • On the basis of marks scored by the apprentices, an Apprenticeship Certificate jointly with Central Bank of India - BFSI SSC will be awarded to the apprentices.

Stipend

  • Rural/Semi-Urban Branches: INR 10000
  • Urban Branches: INR 12000
  • Metro Branches: INR 15000

Diem allowance will be paid in case the apprentice is made to travel for the official purpose as per the table given above. 

Note: Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training or have job experience after completion of educational qualifications shall not be eligible for being engaged as apprentices.

Work Conditions and Leave for Apprentices

  • Apprentice shall be entitled to such holidays as are observed in the Bank. 

  • Apprentice shall be entitled to 1 casual leave on completion of one month of Apprenticeship.

  • The daily hours of training will be as applicable to the clerical staff of the Bank.

  • No apprentice shall be allowed for overtime. 

How to Apply?

All applicants will have to apply online by 3rd April 2023. The tentative date for the online exam is around 2nd week of April 2023. 

Candidates need to register on the Apprenticeship Portal, before applying for the apprenticeship in the Bank. Only a candidate with a 100% completed profile on the Apprenticeship Portal is eligible to apply to the Bank’s apprenticeship program. Here is the application link
