A year came and passed and KGEC E-Cell is once again back to entertain you with the 5th edition of their flagship event, E-Summit 2020. To add icing to the cake of cornucopia of celebration for biz-lovers and entrepreneurs, KGEC E-Cell is back to present you the nation’s first-ever online E-Summit.

Kalyani Government Engineering College (KGEC) is one of the best engineering colleges of West Bengal affiliated to the MAKAUT (formerly WBUT). Founded in 1995, it is located in the city of Kalyani in the Nadia district and has never looked back since. 

The ins and outs of KGEC Entrepreneurship Cell

KGEC E-Cell is the entrepreneurship cell of Kalyani Government Engineering College, founded in 2014 in accordance with the AICTE mandate. It is currently one of the most active E-Cells of West Bengal, hosting a series of workshops, teaching programs, and seminars along with the freshers’ orientation ‘Egnition’ along with the flagship event ‘E-Summit’. KGEC E-Cell was placed as the first runner up in National Entrepreneurship Challenge (NEC) held in IIT Bombay, 2019-20 by competing with various E-Cells across the nation.

Previous E-Summits had brought you an extravaganza with several events like Buzz in the Campus, Insignation (Logo Designing Competition), Dopameme (Meme-making competition), Biz-Quiz, Biz-Boli, Biz-Neeti (Case Study Competition), Titulus Dictum (Caption making competition), Code-Preneur, Improvisado (Impromptu Speech Competition) along with the most anticipated one, Pitchathon. 

Are you ready for the first-ever online summit?

COVID-19 pandemic broke out and a nationwide lockdown was imposed, but these unforeseen happenings are of no hindrance in the path of KGEC E-Cell from continuing their victorious stride as they will be hosting the first-ever online summit on 6th and 7th June 2020.

E-SUMMIT is the annual flagship event of KGEC E-Cell, which is a student organization with its aim and mission to foster and sustain the entrepreneurial spirit among students and youth. E-Summit is an initiative to serve as a platform for bringing together budding entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, investors and start-ups and everyone else with a spirit of entrepreneurship. It creates a networking hub for people from varied domains by involving corporations, working professionals, and students across West Bengal and India. Thus, giving a chance to people to interact and build successful ventures.

The major highlights of the KGEC E-Summit 2020, are as follows:

• KGEC E-Cell will be conducting its Biz-Quiz with a set of 30 brainstorming MCQ questions. It will be a real clash of quizzers whose expertise will be tested in this domain. It has prize money worth INR 1500 along with exciting goodies for the top 3 performers. 

• Buzz In The Campus shall be conducted as usual, exclusively for KGECians. They will be addressing and fixing the problems they face on the campus. There will be prizes for the top 2 performers. Just like other years, KGEC E-Cell will be hosting Case-X, online case study competition, and also the Logo Designing competition. Exciting goodies are in store for the winners. 

• KGEC E-Cell brings you a brand new event named Cruciverba. Cruciverba, online crossword solving competition, will be a challenging test for the participants in the entrepreneurial field in the most intriguing way ever. The cell will give out OTT subscriptions to their top performers as goodies.

To get the ball rolling, we present to you one of the speakers for the online E-Summit 2020, Ms. Pauline Laravoire, an entrepreneur of international importance. She is the Co-founder of AQWA and Y-East. Ms. Laravoire redefined social entrepreneurship not only with her extraordinary skills and knowledge but also with her very way of living.

A Master-degree holder from HEC Paris in Social Innovation & Sustainability, she has traveled extensively around the world and assessed human societies minutely in her bid to identify the problem areas in her fields and work on their solutions. Her professional domain ranges from education to the environment. She is completely dedicated towards the development of East and North-East India through Y-East, a network of professionals working for the environment, as she quotes, "Contribute to the rise and echo of Eastern/ North-Eastern India's voice, and magnify its potential on the national and international stage."
