Cognizance 2021: IIT Roorkee invites young minds to a profusion of exciting events

IIT Roorkee, the oldest technical institution in Asia is proud to present Cognizance 2021, a profusion of exciting events which are going to be conducted entirely online for the first time in its history, driven by the theme "Elusive Realities", with an aim to create a simulation environment in order to provide a real-world experience for all the participants. 

This year it will be held from 15th-18th April 2021. Cognizance provides ingenious students with a platform for displaying their technical acumen through an overbroad spectrum of competitions, workshops, and 25+ events with more than prize money of 10 lakh and goodies on the line. 

What Cognizance 2021 has in store for you?

There are two categories of events this time, Centrestage and Departmental. Centrestage events include technical, case studies, finance, and business events, outlined by gaming events and much more. 

Cognizance codifies ICC, a coding challenge exploiting both patience and programming skills of participants captioning basic string manipulation to complex dynamic programming. Codathon, an event questioning the mettle and coding skills of the participants. Design Quest, a UI/UX-based competition.

To broaden its spectrum towards finance & management, Cognizance 2021 will witness Cogni Street, Alankan and Marketorama, which will test the finance and business knowledge of the participants. 

The incorporation of Departmental events involving a paper presentation of research work conducted by participants in the presence of professors from each department of IIT Roorkee is the core interest of various researchers of our country.

What's new?

In this year's edition, Cognizance brings you an exclusive robotic event, Aero-Vacx, which involves designing a CAD Model of a drone that will provide assistance in transporting the vaccines in isolated areas. Apart from that, you will get a whole Innovation Conclave comprising different case studies. 

There's also an expansive room for examining the minds of skilled gamers in Valorant, CS-GO, COD mobile, and FIFA, providing them to win prize money worth INR 1 Lakh. To magnify the blend of art, technology and to explore the innovative ideas of different students around the country, Cognizance introduces Techzibition, a powerful platform for the students to showcase their innovations.

Guest lectures

Cognizance 2021 will be honored to be graced by the esteemed presence of Nobel Laureates Prof. Robert Aumann and Prof. Ada Yonath. Other eminent speakers like Dr. V.K Saraswat, Prof. Sankar K Pal, Arun Kumar Singh, Amar Nagaram, and Sudarshan Sarma are coordinately invited for Guest Lectures to boost knowledge in their expertise area and inspire the young minds by their achievements and experiences. 

The previous version of Cognizance turned out to be a huge success which was concluded with the astonishing performances by captivating artists, KK, Zakir Khan, Anish Sood and many more. Leaving no stone unturned this year, this year's edition is going to be even bigger and unique for all this generation of technical minds.
