PepsiCo Dare to Do More (DTDM): Everything you need to know

Dare to Do More (DTDM) is an ultimate competition, open to individuals with undergraduate and post-graduate backgrounds and in a few cases, working professionals with up to 2 years of experience, having a global acumen and game-changing ideas. The main aim of the challenge is to address real business issues, identify the brightest minds and hear their plans to bring a difference in the global food and beverage industry.

If you have an idea and the vision to change the pace of sustainability for the FMCG business, then you are in the right place.

Here is the task to prove your mettle:

  1. Help PepsiCo be “Faster, Stronger, Better” with your big idea that ameliorates their efforts in sustainability and minimizes the carbon footprint.
  2. Your proposed idea can give a facelift to sustainability for PepsiCo in the following categories: Water, Agriculture or Waste Management.
  3. Share your business plan with a detailed strategy, the investment plan needed to revive the business, an effective execution and the kind of return on investment required. Also, students are eligible to participate individually or in a team of two members.

What is the eligibility criteria? 

Individuals within the age of 18 years to 32 years (as on 1st September 2019) from India, Egypt, Thailand & KSA are eligible to participate in Dare to Do More (DTDM). Participating Colleges for India are as follows:

What is the Registration Process for Dare to Do More (DTDM)? 

  • In order to register for Dare to Do More (DTDM), Olivia will be available to help one complete the online registration process. One can also ask questions that one might have. Also, you can register in a team of one or two members. 
  • After successful registration, if all members of the team meet the eligibility criteria, a link to an individual online assessment will be shared with each team member, where the leadership and working style will be put to test.

How many rounds are there in Dare to Do More (DTDM)?

Round 1: The Big Idea 

The first round will have the top 100 teams of the country which will be invited to submit a PowerPoint presentation of 3-5 slides or a 90-sec video submission.

Help PepsiCo be “Faster, Stronger, Better” with your big idea that ameliorates their efforts in sustainability and minimizes the carbon footprint. Your proposed idea can give a facelift to sustainability for PepsiCo in the following categories: Water, Agriculture or Waste Management.

The submission should be short and should be creative. Also, one needs to answer the following questions:

  • What is the focus of your idea?
  • Is your idea a game-changer?
  • What encouraged you to pick this focus area and this idea?
  • What is your master plan for this idea?

The round is scheduled to happen between November 1, 2019, 12:00 AM IST and November 17, 2019, 11:59 PM IST. Keep an eye out for an email from Olivia!

Round 2: Country Finals 

In the following round, the top 10 teams of the country will demonstrate their ideas to PepsiCo’s leadership team at the Country Headquarters. The presentation should be in the form of a PPT or PDF of a maximum of 10 slides.

Your detailed presentation should answer the following:

  • What is your idea?
  • How do you plan to execute it?
  • What is the investment you’re seeking and what’s the financial plan for the idea?
  • What does your marketing plan look like?
  • Who is your target audience?
  • What risks do you see in your idea?
  • Why will your idea continue to be successful in the long term?
  • What is your projected return on investment for this idea?

The round is set to happen between December 9, 2019, 10:00 AM IST and December 10, 2019, at 7:00 PM IST. Also, keep an eye out for an email from Olivia!

Round 3: Sector Finals in Dubai 

The chosen Country Winning Team will be offered a Management Training Opportunity or Internship (as applicable) as the “best idea” of the country.

In this stage, the Country Winning teams will traverse to Dubai to present their plans to the PepsiCo sector leadership team who will evaluate each team on the basis of Feasibility and Sustainability of the Idea, Articulation and Presentation, Quality and Construct of the Business Plan and Innovation of the Idea.

The sector winning team will get a chance to visit the PepsiCo Global Headquarter in New York. Also, the team will get an opportunity to experience a dynamic work environment at Pepsico’s Dubai Headquarters over a period of three months.

This round is scheduled to happen on January 8, 2020, from 10:00 AM IST to 7:00 PM IST.

What are the rewards?

  • Finalists will get an opportunity to present their proposals to the PepsiCo Country and sector leadership teams.
  • One winning team from each of the participating countries will be rewarded with a management training opportunity or an internship at PepsiCo in their country.
  • All the shortlisted candidates will reap benefits from a detailed assessment of their leadership profile. This will give emphasis to their strengths and opportunities. They will also attend and have access to capability building sessions.
