Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad, invites eligible final-year undergraduate and postgraduate students pursuing studies in engineering or science disciplines for a structured Paid Internship program, spanning a minimum duration of six (6) months.

Application Process for DRDO RCI Internship

Applications must be sent via Speed Post. To ensure proper segregation, applicants must clearly mention "Application for Paid Internship" and their specific "Branch Code ……" on top of the envelope.

All applications should be addressed to: Director, Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Defence R&D Organization, Vignyana Kancha, Hyderabad-500069.

DRDO RCI Internship Selection Procedure

RCI/DRDO offers paid internships in a hybrid mode to students meeting specific academic criteria:

Academic Merit: Candidates must have a good academic record, securing 75% marks or above (or a CGPA of ≥ 7.5) from an AICTE/UGC-approved College/University.
Institutional Request: Applications must be accompanied by a request letter from the Principal or Head of Department (HOD) of the student's institution, vouching for their highly deserving and meritorious status.
Age Limit: Applicants must be below 28 years of age.
Selection Process: Eligible students will be selected based on their CGPA, and/or an online interview/interaction as deemed necessary, subject to satisfactory verification of all submitted documents.
Notification: Only selected students will be informed about the joining procedures via the email ID provided in their application form.
Application Rejection: Incomplete, erroneous, or late applications will be rejected without further communication.
Merit-Based Selection: Selection is based entirely on merit. No communication will be undertaken regarding rejected applications.

Payment of Stipend

Attendance Requirement: The stipend for the initial 6-month period is only paid if the student maintains a minimum presence of 15 working days per month at the Lab.

Installments: Payments will be made in two installments:

The first installment after 03 months of internship.
The second installment is after the successful completion of 06 months of internship.

Extension without Stipend: For M.Tech. / M.Sc. students, project internships may be extended for an additional 8-10 months without the payment of a stipend.

Direct Bank Transfer: Stipends will be paid directly into the student's bank account.

Award of Certificate

A Certificate of Completion will be awarded upon successful completion of the internship, which includes passing the project work evaluation, submitting the project report, and fulfilling all other formalities. Students who are unable to complete the full internship duration or leave midway will not be issued a Completion Certificate, and no stipend payment will be made.
