The JEE battle is about to begin in a couple of months. Students in lakhs succumb to the war of making it to one of the coveted engineering institutes of the country. From the Grand Finale of Optum Stratethon, Unstop (formerly Dare2Compete)is proud to have captured one such story of Vibhuti Singhania, a chemical engineering undergraduate and a data science enthusiast at IIT Kharagpur. A one-woman army at the national finals, Vibhuti shares the story of her journey from Raipur to Kota and finally, Kharagpur.
Inspired by her cousin brother at IIT Bombay, Vibhuti had always dreamt of breaking the shackles of the society and becoming an Engineer herself. She believes that dreams are the sole reason that help you crack JEE, one of the toughest entrance examinations of the country. "My parents never forced me to pursue any particular course. It was my decision to drop a year and study at Kota", she adds.
Vibhuti's journey has not come to a standstill though. Having defied all odds to land in IIT Kharagpur, she is proud to pursue a course in Data Science along with her majors in Chemical Engineering. When asked about the same, she mentions that Mathematics had always been her favourite subject. It was only after studying Data Science that she realised how closely the two fields are linked.
Hailing from Raipur, Vibhuti cleared the JEE in her second attempt. In this short interview, we hear her speak about how her dreams collided with her interests, her journey to IIT Kharagpur, her unwavering stand as the one woman army at the grand finale of Optum Stratethon and the plans she has for herself in the coming future.
