Gegadyne Energy’s electric vehicle revolution -With Jubin Varghese, Forbes Asia & India 30 Under 30
Not everybody has the courage to leave everything behind and set forth on an unconventional path. But Jubin Varghese and Ameya Gadiwan were different. They had one vision - to make India the manufacturing hub of electric vehicle batteries. Famous as the drop out techies, who chose to leave college in the final year, the would-be Mechatronics Engineers had a goal that couldn’t be confined in the four walls of NMIMS.
And they were right. Soon after, the two were listed by Forbes Asia & India 30 Under 30. A number of other laurels got added to their hats and fame crept into their lives like wildfire. There was no stopping them.
From setting up their firm, Gegadyne Energy, to their exceptional work on electric vehicle batteries that turned into a revolution, the two techies have come a long way. Jubin and Ameya’s innovation in this domain reduced the overall cost of an electric vehicle, thus making the vehicle affordable to a larger section of the country.
But this was just the beginning. The journey was long and tedious and there had to be a number of turning points that would define their future course of action. Jubin Varghese, co-founder Gegadyne Energy, in this video of D2C Chronicles, talks about the struggles faced by the two NMIMS dropouts, shedding light on the life of an entrepreneur if and when he drops out of college, and how their startup ignited a revolution and earned recognition in the electric vehicle segment.
