HackWithInfy is Infosys Limited’s flagship pan-India hackathon, designed to identify and nurture top programming talent among engineering students. This event offers participants the opportunity to showcase their coding skills, solve real-world challenges, and compete for top honors.

Below are the key details regarding eligibility, the registration process, and the event structure. 

Eligibility Criteria

To participate in HackWithInfy, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Participants must be at least 18 years old at the time of registration and must be residents of India.
• The competition is open to students currently pursuing the following degrees and graduating in 2026:

1. B.E./B. Tech
2. M.E./M. Tech Dual Degree
3. MS (Research)
4. MCA/MSc (5-year integrated program)

• Employees of Infosys, its associate companies, advertising and promotional agencies, auditors, and their family members are not eligible to participate.
• Participants must comply with all terms and conditions set by Infosys.
• The company reserves the right to verify participants’ eligibility and disqualify those providing false or incomplete information.

Registration Process

The registration process for HackWithInfy includes the following steps:

1. Single Account Usage: Each participant must register using a single HackWithInfy account. Multiple entries will result in disqualification.
2. Registration Timeline: Registrations commence on February 6, 2025 till March 2025. 
3. Fee Structure: Participation is free, with no registration fees charged at any stage.
4. Registration Method: Registration must be completed through the participant’s respective college placement officer, followed by filling out an Infosys Survey form.
5. Accuracy of Information: Participants must ensure the accuracy of the details provided, as Infosys is not responsible for incorrect information submitted via college representatives.

HackWithInfy 2025: Event Structure 

Here's an overview:

• The first step is to complete the online registration using the link shared by the company.
• Infosys will share the link and test credentials over email for the registered participants adhering to the eligibility criteria.

Round 1: Online Coding Assessment

Format: A three-hour coding test comprising three questions of varying difficulty levels:

• Easy: Questions solvable with basic application of aptitude, algorithms, and data structures.
• Medium: Typically based on Greedy algorithms.
• Hard: Usually involves Dynamic Programming problems.

Cut-offs: The test will have both sectional and overall cut-offs.

Selection Criteria: The top 100 participants from Round 1 will be selected for this round based on overall scores, the number of test cases passed, and code efficiency.

Programming Languages: Participants can code in C, C++, Java, Python, or JavaScript.

Round 2: Grand Finale

Format: A four-day hackathon event. Participation in Round 2 will be on team basis, which the Company will decide.

Timeline: Scheduled for August 2025.

Preparatory Guidance

To perform well in HackWithInfy, consider the following preparation strategies:

Understanding Greedy Algorithms: These algorithms make locally optimal choices at each stage with the hope of finding a global optimum. Familiarize yourself with various types, including pure, orthogonal, and relaxed greedy algorithms.

Mastering Dynamic Programming (DP): DP is a technique for solving complex problems by breaking them down into simpler subproblems. Key principles include:

1. 1. Overlapping Subproblems: Solving the same subproblem multiple times.
   2. Optimal Substructure: The optimal solution of the main problem depends on the optimal solutions of its subproblems.
   3. Methods:
      • Top-down with Memorization: Recursively solving subproblems and storing their results.
      • Bottom-up with Tabulation: Iteratively solving subproblems and storing results in a table.

Common DP Problems: Practice problems like the Knapsack problem, Fibonacci sequence, Palindromic Subsequence, Longest Common Substring, and Dijkstra's algorithm.

Technical Interview Preparation: Post Round 1, participants may undergo a virtual interview assessing technical and behavioral skills. The interview may include problem-solving exercises using a programming language of your choice.

NOTE: For CS/IT students, topics may cover algorithms, data structures, automata theory, compiler design, computer networks, operating systems, and object-oriented programming. Students from other branches might be tested on algorithms, data structures, computer networks, digital electronics, mathematics, object-oriented programming, and control systems.
