Eligibility Criteria

To participate in HackWithInfy, candidates must strictly adhere to the following mandatory requirements. Infosys maintains the right to verify these details at any point during the event.

• Age & Residency: Participants must be at least 18 years old on the day of registration and must be legal residents of India.
• Graduation Year: The 2026 edition of the competition is exclusively tailored for students graduating in the year 2027. This focus ensures that the talent identified aligns with the company’s upcoming recruitment cycles.
• Eligible Degrees: The event is open to students currently pursuing a wide range of technical degrees, including:
• B.E. / B. Tech
• M.E. / M. Tech
• Dual Degree programs
• MS (Research)
• MCA / MSc (5-year integrated programs)
• Exclusions: To maintain the integrity of the competition, employees of Infosys, its associate companies, advertising/promotional agencies, and their immediate family members are strictly prohibited from participating.

Note: The Company reserves the sole discretion to disqualify any participant if there is a doubt regarding their eligibility or if provided information is found to be incomplete or incorrect.

Registration Process

The registration process is a critical first step. Participants must follow these guidelines to ensure their entry is valid and recognized by the Infosys system:

• Registration Timeline: Official registrations will commence on 6th February 2026. Early registration is recommended to stay updated on mock tests and platform orientations.
• Registration Method: Participation is facilitated through your respective college placement officer. Following the college-level nomination, you must complete an official Infosys Survey form. It is vital that the data provided to your placement office matches the survey form exactly.
• Single Account Policy: Each participant is permitted only one HackWithInfy account. Any attempt to participate through multiple identities or accounts is a breach of terms and will lead to immediate and permanent disqualification from the event.
• Fee Structure: Participation is entirely free of cost. Infosys does not charge any registration or processing fees at any stage—be wary of any third-party claims to the contrary.

Accuracy of Information: Accuracy is paramount. Ensure that your name, email, institute details, and specialization are correct, as these will be used for all official correspondence and, eventually, for potential recruitment processing.

HackWithInfy Event Structure 

The 2026 event is structured into three distinct phases designed to filter and find the most efficient coders in the country. Rounds 1 and 2 are hosted on the Infosys Assessment Platform (IAP), which requires a modern browser and a stable environment.

Round 1: Initial Coding Assessment

• Format: A three-hour, high-pressure online coding assessment.
• Participation: Conducted on an individual basis.
• Requirements: Participants are responsible for their own hardware and internet stability. This round typically tests fundamental logic and the ability to convert thought processes into clean, executable code within a fixed timeframe.

Round 2: Advanced Coding Assessment

• Format: A second three-hour assessment for those who cleared the Round 1 benchmarks.
• Participation: Individual.
• Selection for Finale: This is the ultimate filter. Only the top 100 participants nationally will advance. Selection is not just about getting the right answer; the system evaluates overall scores, sectional performance, the percentage of test cases passed (including hidden edge cases), and the time/space efficiency of the submitted code.

Grand Finale: The Hackathon

• Format: A prestigious four-day immersive event featuring the core hackathon.
• Team Dynamics: While previous rounds are individual, the Grand Finale is team-based. Teams are formed at the discretion of Infosys, simulating a real-world corporate environment where developers must collaborate with new colleagues to build a functional solution.
• Timeline: Expected to take place in the second half of 2026.
• Requirements: Finalists must be equipped with their own laptops and necessary software environments. This stage tests not only coding but also architectural design, presentation skills, and the ability to work under a multi-day deadline.

Understanding Greedy Algorithms: These algorithms make locally optimal choices at each stage with the hope of finding a global optimum. Familiarize yourself with various types, including pure, orthogonal, and relaxed greedy algorithms.

Mastering Dynamic Programming (DP): DP is a technique for solving complex problems by breaking them down into simpler subproblems. Key principles include:

1. 1. Overlapping Subproblems: Solving the same subproblem multiple times.
   2. Optimal Substructure: The optimal solution of the main problem depends on the optimal solutions of its subproblems.
   3. Methods:
      • Top-down with Memorization: Recursively solving subproblems and storing their results.
      • Bottom-up with Tabulation: Iteratively solving subproblems and storing results in a table.

Common DP Problems: Practice problems like the Knapsack problem, Fibonacci sequence, Palindromic Subsequence, Longest Common Substring, and Dijkstra's algorithm.
