Britannia Industries Limited, with a legacy of 100 years, promised to offer me an excellent exposure in the Operations field. When I finally landed a chance to do my internship at Britannia Industries Limited, there was nothing that could stop me from grabbing this opportunity.

Since this was an unpaid internship, the selection process was not as elaborate as that of the other companies.

What was my role during my internship at Britannia Industries Limited?

I was selected as an Operations Intern. During the course of my internship at Britannia Industries Limited. My project centered around the Supply Chain domain. As an Operations Intern, my main task was to Standardize the Stacking Heights of Raw Materials, Packaging Material and Space Optimisation of Pan India Britannia Factories. The extent of my role during the course of my internship at Britannia Industries Limited was a true test of my endurance abilities. The dynamism attached to my role was one of the key reasons why I chose to go ahead with my internship at Britannia Industries Limited. Overall, my internship at Britannia Industries Limited was a well-rounded experience.

What did I learn during my internship at Britannia Industries Limited?

Given the domain of my role, I got a golden opportunity to work on my hard and soft skills. Apart from the core learnings attached to any project, I got a chance to enhance my people skills. Various domains that I could work on were my Analytical Abilities, Presentation Skills and Communication Skills. My project required me to interact with the Factory Managers to get data. Convincing them for an interaction required patience and diligence. After my internship at Britannia Industries Limited, I feel that I am ready to enter the corporate world.

What is the work culture at Britannia Industries Limited?

Luckily, I did not have to move out of Bangalore to pursue my internship at Britannia Industries Limited. The first team outing was a factory visit in Bangalore to give the new joiners a taste of the working culture in this sector. During this trip, my Guide and the Factory Manager gave an in-depth explanation of my project related to the factory. I also had a wonderful opportunity to have a one to one discussion with the Factory Manager. He gave me some invaluable insights related to my project which proved beneficial for me.

Given a chance, I would grab the opportunity to work with Britannia Industries Limited in the blink of an eye. The exemplary work culture combined with an emphasis on quality rather than quantity is a plus point. The value addition comes in the form of flexible timings and perfect work-life balance offered by Britannia Industries Limited.

What did I learn from my mentor during the internship?

This internship was a journey of tapping into my hidden potential and discovering capabilities which even I didn't know I had. Few best aspects of my internship at Britannia Industries Limited were the review and feedback sessions with my mentor. The major takeaway was understanding the dynamics of doing complete justice to an Operations-Oriented role.

To summarise, my internship at Britannia Industries Limited was one hell of an experience that is going to stay with me forever. Working with co-interns and understanding their approach towards work was an enriching experience. Doing this internship was a journey of learning, unlearning, and discovering a lot of new things.
