My internship at Caterpillar Inc. taught me the value of time management -By Atharva Kshirsagar from VIT

In addition, the company provides services related to finance via its Financial Products segment. Getting an opportunity to do an internship at Caterpillar was nothing short of a dream come true.

What did you learn from your mentor during your internship at Caterpillar?

I was a summer trainee at the firm. I delved into the various areas and learnt a lot from the people in the firm. A mentor was also assigned to me. With his valuable insights, he guided me throughout the internship. He helped me in understanding work in different segments of the firm, thereby increasing my knowledge of various processes. I’d look up to him for clearing my doubts and he’d be more than willing to help me out.

Describe an interesting incident that happened during your internship.

I recall an interesting incident that happened during my internship. The assembly line I had been observing was facing some issues which were leading to a delay in production. When I, along with my friends, came across the fault and the probable reasons, we immediately sent an alert to the workers. Discovering the fault made me feel a bit accomplished. It was overall an interesting event.
