How an internship at Deloitte Consulting USI helped me improve my skills in strategic development | Shwetha’s story

Deloitte one of the Big 4! I had always wanted to work on a Strategic role and help develop this skill for my career. When an internship at Deloitte was offered, my joy knew no bounds and I immediately grabbed the opportunity.
The selection process for an internship at Deloitte Consulting USI has the following rounds:
It was an on-campus internship recruitment. Initial shortlisting was done by the organization based on our CVs. On the day of recruitment, 2 rounds of selection took place. The first step was a Group Discussion which was followed by a Personal Interview. Thorough preparation and quick thinking go a long way in helping you gain an advantage to get through the interview.
During my internship at Deloitte Consulting USI, I was offered the role of Strategy and Analytics Consultant. Interns were mapped to various service sectors of the organization. I got the opportunity to work for multiple assignments from Strategy Development, Business Pitch, Field Research and Market study. I developed my hard skills by learning multiple technical languages during my internship tenure. Learning about present-day technological revolution and concepts like AI, IOT, Presentations, Communication, Time Management, Team Co-ordination, Content Preparation and Management were the main highlights of my time with Deloitte Consulting USI.
I had to move to Mumbai for my Internship at Deloitte Consulting USI. The city of dreams truly lived up to its expectations. The street food was amazing and the cool sea breezes at the beaches always rejuvenated me. I was fortunate enough to get good accommodation near my office. The overall experience was fantastic and I visited many places in and around Mumbai.
I would really like to thank Deloitte Consulting USI for giving me this amazing opportunity.
Some key takeaways from my internship at Deloitte Consulting USI include:
I didn't have a team outing as such because my entire team was working from a different location and I was following up from Mumbai. But I did get a lot of opportunities to interact with the senior leaders of the firm. In fact, I even organised a seminar with a senior leader to the co-interns. The people around me were very helpful. They never hesitated to help when needed. Given a chance, I would love to work for this organization. During my internship tenure, I gained a good understanding of what the organization did and what made it stand out. I was also able to align my career goals with the company's goals and vision.
Deloitte's welcoming session for the new joiners was unforgettable. They had titled it as Welcome to Deloitte or W2D for short. It was a comprehensive 2-day induction program. They made us feel valued and special. It was very motivating and filled with positivity. It was a warm welcome. I liked their principle which said: "Accept anyone for whatever they are and accept them without judging". This really moved me as it showcased that they hold empathy as their primary value. The energy of the people and friendly vibes provided a rich working environment. I can say without a doubt that it is one of the best places to work, on earth.

What was the work culture at Deloitte Consulting USI?
