How an internship at Global Incubation Services helped me work as a startup consultant | Madhukar’s story
What is the selection process for an Internship at Global Incubation Services?
Honestly speaking, there is no particular selection process for an internship at Global Incubation Services. There wasn’t even an internship opportunity available! The way I became acquainted with the organization was quite interesting.
I called up the Chief Operating Officer of GINSERV and explained that I wanted to start a consultancy startup. I asked if I could consult their startups. He asked me to incubate as a one-man startup in their organization and pay them 5000 per month. I suggested a better idea where neither the organization had to pay for my services nor did I have to pay for taking their office space! He liked my idea and confirmed it four days later.
What did I learn during my internship at Global Incubation Services?
During my Internship at Global Incubation Services, I worked as a startup consultant. Research, report writing, program design, interpersonal relationships, presentations and office politics were some of the areas that I had to work on. It was quite a captivating experience for me as I was working on something which I had developed. I made lots of good friends and left the place on a high note.
After the successful completion of 2 months, I got a paying contract for my organization which has yet to be officially registered. This was a big moment for me as my hard work had finally paid off. I enjoyed the different challenges this opportunity presented to me and hope to continue building what I developed!
Mention some interesting incidents that happened during your internship
One interesting event that happened during my Internship at Global Incubation Services was when my manager and I had booked a bike to go to a place. But my xerox copy of license was not acceptable so we were sent back. All the plans we had that day had gone awry but we had a good laugh about it afterward!
