HDFC Bank Limited, although established just a little over 20 years ago, has marked its exceptional presence across the length and breadth of the Indian subcontinent. Its widespread prominence in the banking sector promised to offer me some exciting opportunities in the domain of Marketing. So, when I came across this amazing opportunity of an internship at HDFC Bank Limited, I jumped at it without a second thought.
The selection process for doing an internship at HDFC Bank Limited comprised of:
The selection process of HDFC Bank Limited kickstarted with an Online Aptitude Exam which tested a candidate on his/her knowledge of Marketing and Salesmanship. After cracking the Aptitude test, I qualified for the Group Discussion Round. Presenting my thoughts in a well-structured manner allowed me to sail through this round easily.
Finally, it was time for the Personal Interview in which I was quizzed about my past experiences and other CV-Based questions. Breezing through all the gruelling rounds, I finally made it to my dream organization.
My role during the internship at HDFC Bank Limited was that of Market research. My basic task was to conduct Market Mapping and to Cold Call the customers to familiarize them with the latest products and services offered by the bank. The nature of my role also required me to engage in a lot of Primary and Secondary Research. Overall, my internship at HDFC Bank Limited was a well-rounded experience that will stay with me forever.
Given the domain of my role at HDFC Bank Limited, I got a brilliant opportunity to work on my Interpersonal and Communication Skills. Meeting clients made me more confident as an individual and gave a major boost to my convincing capabilities and persuasion prowess. In short, I can say that during my internship at HDFC Bank Limited, I got innumerable opportunities to work on and enhance my people skills.
Fortunately, I did not have to move out of my hometown, Lucknow, to pursue my internship at HDFC Bank Limited. This was quite a good experience as I got to explore my city in more depth which I could not do earlier. As far as the team outing is concerned, I can recollect that our first team outing was to a corporate office. The main purpose of this visit was to familiarize the new joiners with the core ethics of the Banking Sector. This session turned out to be an enjoyable and memorable experience.
Given a chance, I would grab the opportunity to work with HDFC Bank Limited in a heartbeat. HDFC Bank Limited has a very flexible work culture that allows anyone to adjust to it easily. Moreover, I wish to pursue a career in Marketing and Sales and no other organization, other than HDFC Bank Limited, can offer me this lucrative opportunity.
During the course of my internship, my mentor gave me some invaluable insights and learnings. He taught me the crux of interconnection between the economy and the corporate world. He always explained things to me in a lucid manner such that I could actually see my theoretical knowledge transcending into real-world applications. I am very grateful to my mentor for being my support system throughout my internship at HDFC Bank Limited.
To summarise, my internship at HDFC Bank Limited was a bag full of learnings. I had scope to tap into my potential and discover my hidden capabilities which even I didn’t know I had!
