In a world, where there is a continuous evolution of IT, a fresh graduate will have to prove before a potential employer a balance of both hard and soft skill sets. As per Business Insider India, the majority of employers (71%) consider fresh graduates getting hired as a tough call when it comes to being hired for white-collar jobs. While IT sectors remain as the top hiring company with 18% choosing it as preferred work. The reason is attributed to the sector's constant evolution with time, opening up new avenues for people possessing the required professional skill set.

Following closely behind the IT sector are manufacturing/production, sales, and marketing with 17%, 15%, and 13% respectively. 

Fresh graduates face these two immediate challenges when it comes to getting hired by employers: 

  • Scarce job openings
  • Changing skill requirements

On a positive note, there is a 5% rise in employers willing to hire fresh graduates in comparison to Q2 2023. This trend clearly indicates a promising opportunity for fresh graduates to get hired in the days to come.
