GEP Worldwide was established just 20 years ago. It has proved its mettle in the domain of Strategic and Advisory Services, Pace-Setting Technology and Managed Services. Owing to GEP Worldwide’s global reputation, it was always on my checklist during my job hunting process. Getting a job at GEP Worldwide for the role of a Senior Consultant was nothing less than a dream come true for me.

The selection process for getting a job at GEP Worldwide was comprehensive and consisted of:

    1. Telephonic Interview - Guesstimate

    1. 3 rounds of Personal Interview

        • Case Study Based

        • CV Based

        • Culture Fit

The preliminary round was the Telephonic Interview. It was an elimination round and acing this round required thorough preparation. With the release of the final list of shortlisted candidates, the campus started buzzing with preparations. Thus, panic and preparation mode was in full swing! My secret behind cracking the Telephonic Interview was to identify my weak areas. I brought clarity in my vision and thoroughly practiced Guesstimate concepts and techniques.

After clearing the Telephonic Interview, the next step of the selection process was a Case-Study Based Personal Interview. Interviewing at GEP Worldwide can seem to be an uphill task. Consulting Shortlists are indicative of the best talent pool a campus offers. The D-Day made me nervous since I had to compete against the best of my peers for the same role. However, I did my best to hold my ground. I tried to maintain my composure when I went inside the room for my interview with the Director. The case given to me was a Guesstimate. While solving it, I did some detailed work and ensured that the interviewer was well aware of my thought process. Although a bit tricky, I could crack this round without much difficulty.

The follow up round was a CV-Based interview. In this, I was quizzed about the projects I had worked upon. Acing this round required deep introspection so that it can actually make your interests a talking point in the Interview! To give credibility to my statements, I made it a point to state examples of my work with each area of interest.

Culture Fit Interview was the last phase of the selection process at GEP Worldwide. This round basically judged my final candidature. It ascertained if I would be a good Culture Fit for the organization. Overall, clearing all these rounds required sheer dedication and passion.

I did not feel the urge to negotiate my salary. The amount offered was competitive enough. On a concluding note, I wish to say that just because you did not make it somewhere, it is in no way an indication of your weak candidature. It simply means that something better awaits you. Your career is a long journey, one single step cannot make or break it. But what indeed seals the deal is how you unlearn and relearn in this journey!
