How internship at TATA Motors Limited taught me Market Research and Analysis | Parthiv's story

TATA Motors Limited has been a leading automobile manufacturer for the past few decades. Their endeavor to strive for perfection in everything they do is what makes them stand out. It is an organization where people continuously work together to make their products better. What I was looking for matched the profile offered by Tata Motors. My internship at TATA Motors Limited went hand in hand with my cultural desires.
The selection process for the Internship at TATA Motors Limited comprised of the following rounds:
The first step was a written test that tested our analytical skills. This was followed by two rounds of personal interview which were difficult to crack!
My role at TATA Motors Limited was for Market Research and Analysis. This meant estimating Total Industry Volume and Conversion Marketing. At the start of my Internship at TATA Motors Limited, I only knew the basic concepts of Marketing and Analysis. However, during my stint at TATA Motors Limited, I learned various aspects of how market functions, how to design a questionnaire, how to look into a problem so that certain factors can help overcome the problem.
For my internship at TATA Motors Limited, I had to move to Kolkata for 3 months. I had heard so much about Kolkata, also known as the city of Joy. Hence, I always wanted to experience the culture of Kolkata. In all, it was a blissful experience!
The first team outing was a meeting to address all customers and know their insights. This served as an ice breaker as I got to meet several people including the Regional Sales Manager and the General Manager. A little chat with them changed my mindset and perspective. The work culture was extremely helpful and filled with positivity. I would love to work here, if given a chance. The work-life balance that one obtains here at TATA Motors Limited will always remain an unmatched perk.
The way I worked on various issues impressed my mentor. The interaction with the customers gave me a lot of knowledge about culture and its nuances. The most valuable lesson that I learned was to look at problems through different perspectives. This helped me in being empathetic towards others. During my Internship at TATA Motors Limited, I made friends who would occasionally invite me over to their place for lunch or dinner. Not even for a second did I feel that I was away from home. Such was the atmosphere! I felt really sad when my internship came to an end. This was, in other words, the best experience of my life!
