From A Railway Accident To Becoming An IAS
IAS Suraj Tiwari, 27, a resident of Kaswa Kuravali in Mainpuri District, Uttar Pradesh secured 917th rank in the Civil Service Exam, 2022. What is great about this achievement is that he refused to let his circumstances define him instead strived hard like there is no tomorrow to achieve greatness through his perseverance and hard work.

In 2017, when Suraj was returning home from his college in New Delhi, he was involved in a tragic accident at a railway station on January 29, 2017. He lost both legs from above the knee and his right hand near just below the elbow, leaving him bedridden and completely dependent on his family members.
This tragedy not only took his ability to walk and write but also put him into a deep depression. Added to the tragic sequence, he lost a brother, making it the darkest phase of his life. Suraj's treatment went on for 4 months.
A Mindset That Never Knew What Is 'Quit'
After clearing the written test on his first attempt, Suraj fell short by a few marks for the interview. Undeterred by setbacks, he persisted and successfully qualified on his second attempt, achieving a significant milestone in his civil services journey. Due to his hard work and dedication, he has become an IAS officer today.
