Do you want to gain a postgraduate (PG) degree from one of the reputed German institutions? If yes, you are at the right place. The Centre for Development Research (ZEF), University of Bonn, is offering the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Scholarships for the academic year 2021-2022.
Scholarship applications can be made by international prospective students belonging to a developing country. Students who wish to pursue development-related postgraduate courses at ZEF may be eligible to win this scholarship towards the tuition fee of the chosen program.

Eligibility and application process of DAAD Scholarship
Following are the eligibility criteria for availing of the scholarship:
- Countries: Students from developing countries and emerging economies are eligible to apply
- Course or subjects: Students can apply to take up any development-related postgraduate course program
- Application requirements: The applicants must have an offer letter from the university in the applied program
Students have to register online and then fill the online application form on the application portal of the university. Applicants may search for their desired program and then follow the application procedure specified for it. The applicants are also required to fill the DAAD funding form with reference to funding for a postgraduate course with relevance to developing countries to apply for the opportunity.

Admission requirements
Students would require an excellent master’s or an equivalent degree with a GPA higher than 3.0 in the American system, a grade higher than 2.0 in the German system, or equivalent to get into a postgraduate program at ZEF.
Language requirement:
The applicants need to score a minimum in the following English language proficiency tests:
- IELTS Academic – 6.0
- TOEFL iBT – 80
- CPE and CAE are also accepted
The postgraduate applicants who will be awarded this application will receive support towards their tuition fee for the applied program at ZEF.

What is DAAD?
The DAAD, founded in 1925, is the largest German support organization in the field of international academic cooperation. It itself does not offer any programs of study but awards competitive, merit-based grants for study and/or research in Germany at any of the accredited German universities or educational institutions of higher education.
The DAAD scholarship program, administered by the DAAD abroad, are available to students from all academic disciplines and fields of action, and at each academic degree level including undergraduates, graduating undergraduates and recent graduates with a BA, masters degree students, doctoral degree students, Ph.D. candidates and postdoctoral students, scholars, and faculty.
