IIM Bodhgaya collaborates with SolBridge International School of Business for its academic exchange programme

Indian Institute of Management, IIM, Bodhgaya kick-started its academic exchange programme series with its first collaboration with SolBridge International School of Business, South Korea. Set up by Woosong University in 2007, in Daejeon, SolBridge International School is one of the world’s youngest Business School in AACSB's history to receive AACSB accreditation. With this collaboration, IIM Bodhgaya has marked a significant milestone of initiating an exchange programme within four years of its establishment in 2015. It is also in talk with many other international universities for the same.

Also known as “Asia’s Silicon Valley” and “High Technology City”, Daejeon is home to many prominent government and private universities, more than 20,000 researchers and Research and Development Centres of companies like LG, Samsung. Solbridge is the first Business School in South Korea with an international faculty and student body with more than 60% international students belonging to different countries and diverse backgrounds. 

The Director of Indian Institute of Management Bodhgaya Dr. Vinita Sahay and Head of International Relations Cell Dr. Medha Srivastava, inked a Memorandum of Understanding with SolBridge International School of Business for facilitating the institute’s maiden academic exchange programme. The signatory counterparts included President of SolBridge John E. Endicott, who has been nominated twice for Nobel Prize for his contribution in the field of nuclear non-proliferation and Byungik Jung Director of Management and Planning Department of Solbridge. 

The IIM Bodhgaya academic exchange programme will enable students and faculty of both the institutions to gain insights into the distinct culture, values and academic setups of each other’s countries. The exchange program will further facilitate the bilateral flow of knowledge and values through faculty collaborations and research tie-ups. This opportunity will enable the students to develop an understanding of the economic interconnectedness of both the countries and the ever-evolving intricacies of corporate domains such as Finance and Marketing, from a global perspective. 

Bodhgaya is the land of sagacity and enlightenment, where Lord Buddha discovered the noble eight-fold path to attain Buddhatva under the famous Bodhi tree. To add to the legacy of Bodhgaya, IIM Bodhgaya was set up by the Government of India in 2015 as the 16th addition to the family of the world reputed IIMs, known for their academic rigour and diverse curriculum.
