100% placement for 1st batch with MBA degree | IIM Shillong Placement Report 2019

IIM Shillong Placement Cell successfully managed a 100% placement rate to its 2017-2019 batch.

This is the 1st time that the institute has awarded an MBA instead of a PGDM.

Average salary went up to INR 16.79 lakhs from INR 15.5 lakhs last year which is an 8.3% increase.

Highest salary went up to INR 28 lakhs from INR 26 lakhs last year which is a 7.69% increase.

While maximum offers came from the BFSI sector (31.3%), the most sought-after sector by the students themselves was Consulting with 26.5% of the batch choosing a Consulting role.

Even though it is comparatively new when compared to other IIMs, IIM Shillong has been able to attract top recruiters to its campus who are offering increased packages year after year as is evidenced by the following table:

Interestingly, the 2017-2019 batch at IIM Shillong was the first to be awarded an MBA degree since the inception of the IIM Act 2017. This Act allowed IIMs to award an MBA or PGDM as per their choice.

With such a wonderful start to the placement journey at IIM Rohtak, the following years are definitely going to be even better with students and recruiters flocking in to see each other.
