IIM Udaipur accelerator program launched to mentor and boost start-ups

The third edition of the much-awaited IIM Udaipur accelerator program has been launched by its Incubation Centre. It is a three-month program that provides start-ups with the resources they need to grow. The program is named “Launch-n-Zoom 3.0”, and will take place online due to the ongoing pandemic situation and lockdown restrictions.

IIM Udaipur’s Incubation Centre

The IIM Udaipur accelerator program is launched by the campus’ Incubation Centre, which provides a platform for participants and incubatees to access the diverse resources of faculty and the entrepreneurial community. The Centre presents a dynamic opportunity to serve as a platform to launch and develop startups into scalable, viable, and profitable businesses.

The first edition of the IIM Udaipur accelerator program was hosted by the Incubation Centre back in 2019, where 18 startups were selected out of 275 applicants following a thorough process of selection. The second edition of the program, Launch-n-Zoom 2.0, was conducted earlier this year. Across the three editions of the IIM Udaipur accelerator program, the Incubation Centre has aimed to mentor and train start-ups, and change the way they roll out ideas.

About Launch-n-Zoom 3.0

The third edition of the IIM Udaipur accelerator program is named Launch-n-Zoom 3.0. Throughout the three months of the mentor-driven coaching, meaningful networking, and structured classroom sessions, the program will help participants refine their product-market fit, understand customer acquisition strategies and implement your growth strategies in an iterative fashion.

At the end of these 3 months, the participants under the IIM Udaipur accelerator program will be well prepared and ready to pitch their validated growth story to investors as part of the demo day. Up to INR1 lakh, rapid prototyping support will be provided to selected start-ups and USD 10,000 Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud credits to all participating start-ups for free.

Kannan Soundararajan, the CEO, IIM Udaipur Incubation Centre, said, “The third edition of Launch-n-Zoom will deep dive into education, healthcare, and fintech sector, building a strong and effective network with other leaders and entrepreneurs in the industry to enable meaningful partnerships with start-ups.” Under the IIM Udaipur accelerator program, 12 start-ups will be selected and will receive in-depth mentoring and feedback from industry experts and mentors.

Eligibility and benefits

The IIM Udaipur accelerator program is looking for startups who have their prototype/MVP ready and are in the process of selling/marketing their products in the education, healthcare, and fintech sector. According to the Launch-n-Zoom 3.0 official website, an ideal start-up for the program involves, “A good founding team, which is coachable, because Ideas can change, but people usually do not. We believe that the most important factor of any successful start-up is its founding team.”

The IIM Udaipur accelerator program aims to provide numerous benefits to all the start-ups involved. Each start-up will be mentored based on its unique needs and will attend expert-led masterclasses covering all scaling fundamentals. Start-ups will also have exposure to leading corporates in the industry, hence increasing their visibility.
