IndiGo airlines, India’s biggest airline (59.24% domestic market share, August 2020), suffered a lot of backlash from the Covid-19 due to the travel restrictions. However, with the travel restrictions easing out as the pandemic diminishes, the airline is observing positive revenues.

Being encouraged by the pace of revenue recovery, IndiGo airlines has released a notification for the recruitment of Engineering Graduates for the role of Trainee. This has opened new horizons for B.Tech graduates to streamline their careers and learn from the market leaders.

IndiGo Airlines Recruitment 2021

IndiGo Airlines (InterGlobe Aviation Ltd.) has issued a recruitment drive on their official website. B-tech freshers can apply for the post of ‘Trainee- Product lifecycle management (PLM)'.

Trainee (PLM) Job Description

  • Aircraft Routing, Fleet Management, Maintenance Planning with minimal grounding time of Aircraft.
  • Warehouse and Inventory Management, Front Line Support
  • Repair management of Aircraft components.
  • Planning and provisioning of materials, spares, tools, and equipment
  • Procurement of spares and logistics support
  • Long-term Aircraft Maintenance planning that includes Aircraft Leasing, Entry into Service, C-Checks, etc.
  • Insurance, Warranty, Budgeting, and Cost control.
  • Contracts Management
  • Liaise / Develop Local / Foreign Vendors
  • Special Projects / Studies / Implementation of Systems and Procedures etc.

Trainee (PLM) Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who satisfy the following criteria are eligible for the post of Trainee (PLM):

  • B.Tech Branches eligible: Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/ Aeronautical
  • Should have completed B. Tech
  • 10%- 60 and above
  • 12%-60 and above
  • Graduation Aggregate- 60% and above

IndiGo Airlines: A closer look at the employer

IndiGo Airlines, headquartered in Gurgaon, Haryana, India, is the largest airline in India, with a domestic market share of 59.24% (August 2020). IndiGo airline is also the largest individual Asian low-cost carrier, in terms of jet fleet size and the number of passengers carried. With the tourism industry jabbed by the Covid-19 pandemic, IndiGo airlines also had suffered quite some beating. 

The IndiGo airline possessed a fleet of 279 planes at the end of September 2021. It had incurred a net loss of ₹1,194 crores in the year-ago period, indicating a positive growth rate. 

"We are encouraged by the pace of revenue recovery. We continue to work towards a return to profitability in order to strengthen our balance sheet," the company's CEO Ronojoy Dutta explained.
