What is the selection process at the Fenesta Building Systems DCM Shriram?
The selection process at the Fenesta Building Systems DCM Shriram consisted of the following two rounds:
- Group Discussion
- Personal Interview
The Group Discussion round was conducted through a video conference and the topic of GD was "Is management science or art?". I gave a balanced view that it is a mixture of both. Although a bit tricky, I was able to sail through this round and got a call for Personal Interview. The questions asked in the interview primarily focused on my profile, area of specialization and basic concepts of marketing.
After breezing through both the rounds, I was finally selected for an internship at Fenesta Building Systems (DCM Shriram) as a Market Research Intern.
What was my role during the internship?
My project involved creating a database of all the contractors (big and small) in Delhi - NCR. I had to understand the process of windows and doors installation in the market and visit furniture, plywoods, glass and tile shops. I had to interact with the shop owners and understand their work dynamics. Once the information was collected, I had to prepare the list of contractors from it. Finally, I had to talk to these contractors and understand the process that they follow in their day to day activities.
What did I learn during my internship at Fenesta Building Systems DCM Shriram?
My internship at Fenesta Building Systems DCM Shriram gave me an opportunity to work on and enhance my communication, interview process and problem-solving skills. What was unique about my internship at Fenesta Building Systems DCM Shriram was the fact that it taught me the art of time management. Also, I got an opportunity to apply my theoretical knowledge to real-world problems. This internship gave me a chance to go on a field visit and understand the doors and windows market. Overall the internship at Fenesta Building Systems DCM Shriram was a well-rounded experience.
What is the work culture at Fenesta Building Systems DCM Shriram?
To pursue my internship, I moved to Delhi. I knew that this internship will teach me a lot so the move seemed organic. On the first day, all the interns got an opportunity to interact with Senior Management. This was an ice-breaking event. It allowed all of us to adapt to the work environment. It also gave us the impression that senior management was approachable.
Given a chance, I would grab the opportunity to work with Fenesta Building Systems DCM Shriram, in the blink of an eye. The main reason behind this is the excellent work culture at Fenesta Building Systems DCM Shriram. Employees are given full flexibility to handle the project in the way they want to. This ensures that there is space for the all-round development of employees.
What did I learn from my mentor during the internship?
Every weekend, I had a review session with my mentor. In this, I was appreciated for the work done so far and was encouraged to do better. These review sessions were quite beneficial and allowed me to learn a lot of things.
To summarise, doing an internship at Fenesta Building Systems DCM Shriram was one of the best decisions of my life. It gave me invaluable experience along with connections and friendships that will last a lifetime.
