When you’re going for an internship, there is always a lot of excitement and at the same time a bit of nervousness about what to expect. For Jerry, his internship experience at Philips India was nothing but full of surprises.

Jerry worked at HIC, the business incubation center, located in Pune. Here is where you get to take your idea to the market, he said. He added that Philips has the right mix of experienced engineers and able managers who cater to the business needs of Philips globally.

Jerry did not expect to be trusted with the kind of responsibility that his mentors let him handle. “I am currently working on a project to reduce the total cost of ownership of our customers. This helped me gain a truly holistic view of how to analyze the problems and to offer constructive solutions”, said he. During one of his market visits, Jerry had the opportunity to visit AIIMs Delhi. There he witnessed how the work done at Philips impacted the lives of thousands of people on a daily basis.

At Philips, employees regularly follow DM boards and Kaizen. This helped Jerry keep a track of the progress that he had done and make continuous improvement to his work.

Also, Jerry says that it was not just serious work all the time. During his internship at Philips India, he got a lot of opportunities to break out of normal work, meet new people from diverse backgrounds and share lighter moments with fellow colleagues.

In conclusion, he says that if anyone out there has a curiosity to learn and is ready to take the challenge of making an impact in the real world, Philips is the perfect place to start their career with.
