Internship experience at Philips India | Maria Mathew

Maria, since childhood, has been that enthusiastic kid who raises her hand up for everything in class. “This transitioned over my adulthood as well where I wanted to ensure that whatever work I did, made a meaningful impact”, beginning on this note, Maria shares her internship experience at Philips.

Philips is known to offer internships which allow students to test their skills and challenges them to flourish in their fields. Offering a competitive and nurturing environment, Philips provides meaningful projects to students for internships and full-time roles. Its aim centers around leaving an impact from the start.

Maria’s internship was in the Health Systems HR team where her project was on increasing cross-functional collaboration within health systems. “This involved interviewing various employees across teams, understanding and analyzing their challenges and finally present a solution that would help improve their collaboration”, Maria said.

One key point which Maria loved about Philips was the freedom her mentor and guide gave her to steer her project in any direction she wanted. “At the same time, they were always there to substantiate my work and ensure that I was going in the right direction”, she added.

Maria’s best moment at Philips was when she implemented her solution where she facilitated a workshop. “I had invited the regional heads to come and it was great to see that even though I was just an intern, they gave me so much respect”, she said.

To conclude about her internship experience at Philips, Maria says that if one wants a substantial experience where they can learn by doing and not just by seeing, Philips is the place to be.
