IRMA is one of the top B-Schools, and one of the few colleges offering a plethora of Post Graduate courses in Rural Management. This year it launched scholarships for MBA aspirants looking to go for its Rural Management Programme. The scholarships will be of a maximum amount of 50% of the tuition fee of the PGDM(RM) course and 50% of seats for scholarships will be reserved for women.

The selection of students for scholarships in the first year will be based on the merit of the student which will be verified during the admission process. It consists of two groups of students: The first lot of students that have appeared for either CAT or XAT and cleared the cut-off and the other lot are profile-based students. To continue with the scholarship in the second year as well, the criteria set by IRMA based on the performance of students in the first year will have to be met.

Types of scholarships for MBA aspirants

Financial assistance to students is offered in three ways:

  • SC scholarships

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India has allocated four scholarships for students belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC) category. The scholarship covers the total cost of education of such students at IRMA including tuition fees, lodging and boarding expenses, cost of stationery and a personal computer, and other non-refundable charges.

  • ST scholarships

The Ministry of Tribal Affair, Govt. of India has allocated five scholarships for students belonging to the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category. The scholarship covers the entire tuition fees, lodging and boarding expenses, stationery cost, and a one-time grant for a personal computer.

  • Tuition fee waiver (TFW) scheme

The tuition Fee Waiver Scheme is allocated to assist extremely poor applicants to meet their tuition fees. It can be applied for after the students have joined the institute. The eligibility is according to the AICTE criterion.

For those not meeting the above criteria for scholarships for MBA in IRMA, the option of educational loans are also available. Several banks including Canara Bank, Anand, United Bank of India, Anand and Bank of Baroda, Anand offer these friendly loan services to students of PGDM(RM) at IRMA.
