JEE Advanced 2023 Results: Number Of Female Qualifiers Increases Third Year In A Row

1,80,372 candidates took the examination this year and 43,773 qualified. Of these, 7,509 are women. The number of qualifying women stood at 6,516 in 2022, and 6,452 in 2021.

The results for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2023 were released yesterday, and a total of 43,773 candidates cleared the examination. As per the JEE Advanced 2023 results, of these total qualified candidates, 7,509 are women - a significant increase from the last two years. The number of qualifying women stood at 6,516 in 2022, and 6,452 in 2021.

Widely considered one of the toughest entrance exams in the world, JEE Advanced is an annual academic entrance examination. It’s organized by one of the seven zonal IITs (Indian Institute of Technology). The seven zonal IITs are IIT Roorkee, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, and IIT Guwahati. The exam results are a prerequisite for entrance into the undergraduate programs at the 23 IITs.  

IIT Guwahati organized this year’s exam. This year saw an increase in the qualifying cut-off for the common rank list, compared to last year. The CRL for JEE Advanced 2023 was 23.89%. For JEE Advanced 2022, it stood at 15.28%. Consequently, the pass percentage dipped this year - from last year’s 26.17% to 24.26%, this year.

JEE Advanced 2023 Results: The Toppers

Vavilala Chidvilas Reddy from the IIT Hyderabad zone topped the JEE Advanced 2023. He scored 341 out of 360. Apart from Reddy, Nayakanti Naga Bhavya Sree–this year’s female topper—also belonged to the IIT Hyderabad zone. She scored 288 out of 360 and secured AIR 56. 

As per the JEE Advanced 2023 Results, the IIT Hyderabad zone accounted for six positions in the top ten. A total of 10,432 candidates from the zone cleared the exam. 

IIT Hyderabad zone was followed by the IIT Delhi zone and IIT Bombay zone. Among the top 500 candidates, 174 were from the IIT Hyderabad zone, 120 from the IIT Delhi zone, and 103 from the IIT Bombay zone.

The JEE Advanced 2023 examination was conducted on June 4, 2023, and the results were announced on June 18, 2023. Here are the steps to check the rank list of JEE Advanced 2023:

  • Go to the official website of JEE Advanced: jeeadv.ac.in.
  • Click on the rank list link.
  • Enter your JEE Advanced 2023 9-digit roll number, mobile number and date of birth.
  • Click on ‘Submit’.
  • The rank list of JEE Advanced 2023 will be displayed on the screen.
  • The list can be downloaded.
