L'Oréal Brandstorm 2022 India Grand Finale Culminates With A Bang!
L'Oréal, the world leader in beauty, recently held the international innovation competition for all innovators- L'Oréal Brandstorm, empowered by American cloud-based software company Salesforce. For the 30th anniversary of the competition this year, L'Oréal Brandstorm was open for anyone up to the age of 30 years. The winners of the National level competitions across 60 participating countries got a chance to participate at the Worldwide semi-finals. Presenting you a glimpse of the National Grand Finale of the L'Oréal Brandstorm 2022 that witnessed one of the most electrifying ideas from students across India.
About 12,900 students had registered in L'Oréal Brandstorm 2022 out of which 72 students made it to the semi-finals and finally 9 teams of three members each reached the last round i.e. the National Grand Finale.
L'Oréal Brandstorm 2022 Stages And Structure
To make the competition accessible to students of all fields of expertise, L'Oréal Brandstorm 2022 was structured into three tracks namely:
- Inclusion Track: For products & services to empower inclusive beauty.
- Green Track: For next dimension sustainable beauty
- Tech Track: For beauty personalization & experience fueled by technology.
Further, the competition had three well-designed rounds:

Case Submissions |
All teams had to submit case solutions on a 3 slide pdf along with a 2 minutes video of their team explaining their idea. |
Round 2 |
Hackathon |
Teams shortlisted on the basis of their case submissions got to participate in the hackathon stage. The round involved a simulation game. Twenty four teams made it to this round out of which nine teams were selected for the Finale (three teams under each category). |
Round 3 |
National Finale |
Shortlisted teams from the Hackathon made it to the National Grand Finale. Nine teams presented their solutions to prominent leaders of L'Oréal. |
Every team put up the best of their performances and raised the bar of excellence making it tough for the jury to make the final call.
An esteemed panel of jury members
The race began with 12,000 registrants and finally 27 students from colleges across India made it to the the national finale of L'Oréal Brandstorm. The event started with a welcome speech followed by the jury introduction. Following were the members of the esteemed jury:

The nine teams that paved their way into the national grand finale of the L'Oréal Brandstorm 2022 truly impressed the judges with their sparkling ideas. These teams belonged to engineering and management schools across India. The list of the finalists is as follows:

Each team were given 3 minutes to present their ideas followed by 10 minutes of Q&A round with the jury. The ideas of the teams ranged from AI-driven app to DIY shampoo using fructipods to a multi-use make-up touch up pen synced with an App and many more of such out-of-the box ideas. After an extensive jury discussion, final results were announced and the national winners were as follows:

National winners were extended pre-placement interview offers for the L’Oréal India Management Trainee-Batch 2023 and were invited to join the International semi-finals of the L'Oréal Brandstorm 2022.
The L'Oréal Brandstorm 2022 highlighted the innovative ideas that can revolutionize the make-up industry. Commending the commitment and courage of all the participants, Bhaskar Ramesh from Google India, who has been part of the jury panel for L'Oréal Brandstorm, said that he saw the future of corporate India in the nine teams that made it to the finals. He urged the future participants to draw the attention of the listeners or judges towards the problem rather than jumping straight to the solution right at the start. Defining the problem deeply is what makes the real difference and keeps the judges invested.
