The first step was forming a team, and we can safely bet that our team worked like a well-oiled machine! We named our team - Eye of the Storm which consisted of Tarannoor Kaur (young entrepreneur, a multi-tasker, and a ‘Balancer‘), Chavi Malik (driven by excellence, the ‘Planner’), and Karan Gauba (who have a knack for learning how brands think, the ‘Inquisitor’).

We had a perfect blend of creativity, research skills, dedication, commitment, and strategic skills. We cared about the project and supported each other throughout the tough times of the pandemic. 

We actually didn’t sleep! We attributed all our strength and dedication to preparing for the competition. Moreover, the seamless support from each other, faculty, and family gave us the extra push. Not to forget to mention, the art of prioritizing. It is something everybody needs if they want to excel.

Here are certain points that can help you bring up your A-game as per our experience in L'Oréal Brandstorm 2021:

  • Team dynamics matter a lot. Choose your team wisely.
  • During the entire journey, do not overlook the fun part.
  • Think big, do not restrain yourself from ideas. Experiment with templates, add financials, or anything that you want according to the case study.
  • Since it's a global competition, make sure your research is up-to-date. For instance, if some technology is not available in India, do not hesitate to put across your idea. Because there are people at the global level who can probably execute your idea.

  • Since the company is extremely consumer-centric, propose ideas that are feasible and are aligned with the company’s problem statement.
