L’Oréal Sustainability Challenge 2019: A life-changing digital challenge for B-Schoolers and Engineers
L'Oréal, one of the largest cosmetic companies in the world, is all set to roll out a digital challenge, L’Oréal Sustainability Challenge 2019, for B-schoolers and engineers, with a mission of Sharing Beauty With All with Employer Branding. The competition is an amalgamation of all the principles related to sustainable development covering the entire value chain of innovation, production, consumers, and communities.
The challenge stresses on educating and empowering the communities to make sustainable consumption choices while improving the beauty of the planet. Well, the competition requires young, passionate and optimistic change agents to stoke up this cause.
What are the eligibility criteria for L’Oréal Sustainability Challenge 2019?
For B-Schools, first and second-year students who are pursuing a full-time 2-year MBA from all the B-Schools are eligible to participate in the competition.
Whereas, the third and fourth-year students who are pursuing the B.Tech program and third, fourth & fifth-year students who are enrolled for Integrated/Dual Degree courses from the selected colleges are eligible for the participation.

What are the team formation guidelines for L’Oréal Sustainability Challenge 2019?
- A team must consist of not more than 3 members, irrespective of the specializations.
- A participating student can’t be a part of two teams at once.
- There can be multiple teams from an institute.
- Also, not abiding by the guidelines will result in the disqualification of a team.
How many rounds are there in L’Oréal Sustainability Challenge 2019?
The competition comes with four stages; Executive Summary Submission, Detailed Presentation Submission, L’Oréal Factory Immersion, and the Grand Finale.
Executive Summary Submission
- All the registered teams will have access to the Problem Statement for the L’Oréal Sustainability Challenge 2019.
- Each team is required to submit a 1-Slider Executive Summary.
- The first slide should include team details and the second slide will mention analysis or deliverables to the problems. There will be no appendix slides. There should be due credits for the references.
- Also, participants can use any suitable format depending on their creativity and presentation of ideas.
- Naming Convention: InstituteName_TeamName
- The deadline to upload the file is 2nd September 2019, 11:59 PM.
Detailed Presentation Submission
- Depending on the quality of executive summary submissions, 20 teams will make it to this round. The results for the first round will be declared on 12 September 2019,7:00 PM IST.
- All the selected teams will need to make a 5-slider detailed presentation on the case, which will begin from 13 September 2019, 12:00 AM IST.
- In addition, the first slide should have team details, other four slides should include analysis or deliverables to the problems. All the references should be mentioned with due credits. Teams can add the 6th or 7th slide as their Appendix slide. Moreover, the submission won't include additional documents.
- Also, the deadline to upload the detailed presentation is 29th September 2019, 11:59 PM.
L’Oréal Factory Visit
All the selected 20 teams will get an opportunity to visit the L’Oréal Factory, where they will get to witness L’Oréal’s work in the field of Sustainability.
This round is set to take place on 18th September 2019, 10:00 AM IST.
Grand Finale
- Out of all, the top 5 National Finalists will get an opportunity to present to the senior leadership team at L’Oréal's Head Office in Mumbai, India. It is scheduled to happen on 3rd October 2019, at 7:00 PM IST.
- Also, other details of the national level round will be available after the completion of submission rounds.
- All decisions in the matter of eligibility, authenticity & final judgment will be with Unstop (formerly Dare2Compete)and L’Oréal.
- The Grand Finale will kick off on 7th October 2019, 10:00 AM IST.
Prizes
Winners and Runners-up will get exciting prizes and PPIs. Also, please note that second-year students will get PPIs while first-year students will get Internship Offers.
