Marico Over The Wall Season 6 Campus Winner Apoorva Choudhary's Story

I felt euphoric when we were announced as the Campus Winners of Marico Over The Wall Season 6 but more than any other feeling, it was my motivation level and self-confidence that got a boost. Becoming the Campus Winners for this big a competition was a dream come true.

There were majorly two reasons for me to participate in Marico Over The Wall Season 6. Firstly, it is a renowned prestigious B-School corporate competition. Secondly, the case given was so intriguing that I got myself completely into it the moment it got launched in my campus. And once we decided to participate, we gave it our sweat and blood.

I read the case at least 10 times. Since it was a marketing case, I spent a lot of time in the initial primary and secondary research. Also, as a team, we chose the best and unique framework to present the work. For the first round, we invested around 2 weeks where we had split the time for different phases of work. The most challenging phase was to select one big idea out of many options thought. Reaching to that one big idea by thinking upon it from various angles was a challenging task.

It was a great learning experience and it was fun working with the team. Each one of us had different expertise which helped. Everyone contributed equally and honestly, such that there was no free riding in the group. Yes, we had a conflict of thoughts a few times but then we listened to each other's ideas/opinions and tried to weigh it from all perspectives. However, sometimes we also took a third person’s view to solve our conflict.

7 teams were competing in the finale and according to me, each one of them was a tough competition. Marico Over The Wall Season 6 was brilliant in every aspect. It was smoothly organized throughout the journey of the competition. Mentors were allocated at each and every step and proper guidance was provided.

The case given to us was a live business problem where we were expected to take every facet into account. I learnt about all the moving parts that should be thought of while implementing a solution. Real-life problems like these are what intrigue me and I am keen to solve more such problems in the future.
