With a number of new courses coming up to prepare young business minds for the changing economy, Srinivas University, Mangaluru has also decided to step up. Srinivas University, in association with Future Group, is now offering an MBA degree in retail management. The course will be offered to the students enrolling for the upcoming academic year and has been designed with great care. Both, the professors at Srinivas University and experts at the Future Group have come together to design the course curriculum, content, and delivery with Future Sharp Skills Ltd.

According to the University, the course will not be limited to just books and classrooms! There will be frequent visits to business hubs such as malls, to relate the knowledge learnt in classrooms with the practical world. The duration of the course will be two years (four semesters). Further, any candidate with a bachelor's degree from a UGC-recognized University with 50 % Marks and a valid score in SUAT/KEA-PGCET can apply.

Subjects holding relevance to retail management, such as retail business, retail operations, store hygiene and visual merchandising, retail value chain management, retail business analytics, category management, and product approach will give students a sound understanding of the retail world atmosphere.

Unique features of the MBA course


Srinivas University is offering its MBA in retail management with more than just a few unique features. Along with the semester scheme in an MBA course, the examination system will give 50% weightage to continuous evaluation, and 50% weightage to the semester end exams.

The retail value chain journey, at the FSSL stores and warehouses, will also be a part of the curriculum. It will be done with the aim of building an understanding of the retail life cycle commonly called, ‘retail yatra’. The students will get a chance to solve real-world business problems of the company during the final project in the course. Throughout this, they will receive industry mentoring which will help them develop their skills in retail management. 

Apart from all of this, guest lectures will be scheduled with experts in the retail industry. Placement assistance is also ensured by both, the Future Group, and the university placement cell.
