“I had no prior experience of managing traffic. When I came to Indore, I was impressed by young volunteers who managed traffic in the city and got involved with this work,”
With the recent declaration of CAT 2021 results, social media platforms (especially LinkedIn and Quora) are full with posts from MBA aspirants who have either made it, or have not lost hope and aim to be the next pioneer.
Each year thousands of students opt for management as a career, looking to get the dream job and a handsome salary. But in this flood of MBAs, there is an MBA graduate who even after completing her education from a prestigious MBA institution, chose to serve the people.
Meet Shubhi Jain from SIBM Pune
Shubhi Jain, a SIBM Pune graduate, stormed our lives when a video of her went viral overnight during 2019. She went for an NGO training in Indore for 15 days where this video was shot. It received huge viewership because of the unique way she was handling the traffic.
“I am not that active on social media and have a private account on Instagram. My mentor was very happy with the way I was passionately working for the cause and shared the video with the Indore Traffic Police Department. Everyone picked it up from their handle”.
“Main toh sirf traffic department mein volunteer kar rahi thi, I never knew people would like it so much” said Shubhi.
Shubhi herself admitted, “I am inspired by the histrionics of a popular city cop, Ranjeet Singh”. Ranjeet Singh hit national and international headlines for regulating traffic with his dancing skills.
The 25-year-old again shot to fame in December 2021, when she was found volunteering with the traffic police in the city to manage traffic in her unique way.
An inspiration for many
While the people have welcomed Shubhi with open hands, the cops of Indore have also not been behind the lines. “The cops have been very helpful and have taken care of all the volunteers when things escalate. Whenever a violator tried to get rude with us, they would intervene” said Shubhi.
Shubhi’s work in Indore has definitely given a push to many individuals to develop and spread awareness among the people in new ways. The support shown by the people and police of Indore for efforts is truly commendable.
Many NGOs are being run in India and hundreds of students volunteer in these NGOs to help society. People like Shubhi Jain make everyone ponder over the fact that whether they are doing enough for society. It takes the guts and determination like Shubhi Jain to truly motivate the people and do something meaningful for society.
