Mondelēz International MENAP needed to run a high-stakes innovation and employer branding challenge that could simultaneously engage with and evaluate two different talent pools across multiple countries:

  • International Scale: The competition required a platform capable of seamless, reliable registration and submission management across the entire MENAP region.
  • Dual-Track Complexity: The challenge was to organize for two distinct and parallel tracks for Engineering (Supply Chain) and Commercial talent, each having unique problem statements and tailored evaluation criteria. Mondelēz needed a robust platform to meet all its requirements in one place.
  • High-Quality Submissions: It also required detailed and multiple-format submissions (10-slide PPTs and videos), necessitating a platform with advanced submission portals and robust, automated evaluation tools.
  • Employer Branding: The challenge had to serve as a vital tool to position Mondelēz as the employer of choice and a leader in innovation across its target markets.

  • Two Competition Tracks: The competition was divided into two main, specialized tracks: Engineering (Supply Chain) and Commercial, each with unique problem statements designed to target specific skill sets.

2. Multi-Stage Submission & Evaluation Framework

Unstop's platform was utilized to manage the high volume of complex, detailed submissions across all virtual stages:

  • Stage 1: Executive Summary Submission: Teams registered on the Unstop portal and submitted a concise summary of their idea (5-slider PPT for Commercial, 2-3 slider for Supply Chain). 
    • All candidate registrations and submissions were securely handled through the platform.
    • The smart applicant tracking system ensured all candidate submissions and progress were tracked seamlessly and organized into structured segments for further evaluation.
  • Stage 2: Detailed Submission Round: Shortlisted teams moved to the rigorous detailed submission round.
    • For this, the select teams were required to upload 10-slide PowerPoint presentations and a 5-minute video solution to enhance the experience.
    • Unstop’s robust case competition platform ensured that the submission experience was as seamless for participants as the evaluation and shortlisting process for the Mondelēz team.
  • Automated Evaluation Support: Unstop integrated SME (Subject Matter Expert) evaluation support on the platform. 
    • We customized our system and competition workflow to automatically rank and score candidate submissions against set rubrics and parameters.
    • The end goal was to ensure objectivity, fairness, and speed in shortlisting the participants.
