Mradul's journey to Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting | Live bold and bloom
Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting is one of the fastest-growing FMCG companies in India which has multiplied its revenue 22 times within the last 15 years. With its presence in 19 countries and 15 manufacturing units in China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam, the company encompasses a talent base of over 10,000+ people with a dominant workforce of women employees. Knowing these remarkable facts and getting a positive feedback from the alumni working there, I decided to make my journey to Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting a success.
Selection Process at Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting:
My journey to Wipro Consumer Care & Lighting was laden with difficult hurdles and obstacles. I had never seen such a recruitment process in any company that came to the campus.
The selection process consisted of 4 rounds:
- Aptitude test
- Three GD rounds
- PPT round
- Personal Interview
The surprising element of back-to-back GDs was a little frightening but somehow I sailed through it. The first GD had an abstract topic that was meant to check the thought process whereas the other GDs majorly focused on evaluating the domain knowledge through a situation-based problem and a general topic. The final round of personal interview was fully based on my Internship. We mostly discussed my job role and learnings.
Life at BIMHRD
After scoring 95 percentile in CMAT, I applied to a few colleges, of which the Balaji Institute of Management and Human Resource Development (BIMHRD) grabbed my attention. The college has a 365-day schedule that challenges you to the core. I was actually looking forward to it as I wanted to push myself to the point where I would not have a tinge of hesitation even if I had to work on a Sunday.
As the induction period began, I got a chance to brush shoulders with many eminent personalities whose insights were highly beneficial for me. I cannot forget the day I gave my induction presentation in front of more than 500 people. I haven’t felt nervous going on stage, ever since. Apart from that, the workshops involved a lot of fun activities that made learning highly interesting.
BIMHRD ensures that the students inculcate every quality that a management professional is expected to exhibit. I did my internship in D.C Johar & Sons in the area of Business Development. I converted retailers, promoted the concerned product and learned how to make sensible decisions at critical times.
Dose of motivation
I really look up to the saying of Mark Twain that “Whenever you find yourself on the side of majority, it is time to pause and reflect.”
One should be confident enough to take the road not taken. It is okay to not follow the crowd. Every individual has a different perspective and if you happen to have one then be unapologetic about it.
A Thank you note:
All of this would not have been possible without the constant support of my friends and family. The one person, I shall be eternally grateful to, is Bala Sir. Without him, I would not have reached even halfway. Today, I can proudly say that all my hard work has paid off. BIMHRD has shaped me into an individual who can finally stand tall in the corporate world.
