For the last couple of years, I've been a regular customer of Myntra and I saw how it constantly evolved over time. The way it solved customer problems using technology and how it stayed ahead of its competitors, has always inspired me. Here are the insights into my journey from becoming the National Runners-Up of Myntra Stylbiz to a Management trainee at Myntra, a place where each day is an opportunity to give your best!

Almost a year back, I came across a couple of features rolled out by Myntra, for instance, Alteration services and AR-based shoe size finder. I was amazed at how this company has a great understanding of the real problems or pain points of the Indian customers and how they do not hesitate to experiment and take risks to solve them using technology.

Kick-starting my journey at Myntra

Any MBA student would want to work in such an organization that could challenge him with unsolved real-world problems. And when we have a huge proportion of the Indian population buying apparel offline, there are many such problem statements that are exciting and need solutions.

So, when my team participated in Myntra Stylbiz, we took this case competition as an opportunity to ideate and take a stab at these problems. We brainstormed for a few weeks, did our primary and secondary research, and submitted our ideas. After multiple rounds, we successfully ended up as the National Runners-Up and received a PPI opportunity for the Product Manager role at Myntra.

To give my cent percent performance, for the interviews, I revised my basics on Product design, Metrics, Guesstimates, and some technology-related concepts. After 3 rounds of interviews and an HR round, I got the communication that I was selected and I can nott express that joy in words. I was on cloud nine!

What it is like to be a Management Trainee at Myntra

When many firms in the industry were either postponing the joining dates or rescinding the offers for many college grads because of Covid-19, Myntra onboarded all of us virtually and sincerely stuck to the promised date. Thanks a lot to the Myntra team and its leadership!

Our entire onboarding process was absolutely smooth and structured. Leaders from across the organization interacted with us about the work they do and the awesome experiences they have with Myntra. All the new MBA joinees were divided into teams and were given a case competition to work for the first few days. It helped us to break the ice and allowed us to interact with teams across the organization, from Customer support to Supply chain. We had an awesome learning experience within the first couple of weeks itself as a Management trainee at Myntra.

It's been just four months since I joined and I can vouch that I've learned a lot about Product management during this period. Every day, there is at least one thing I could pick and learn from my peers or the work practices here.

I should also mention the awesome culture, here at Myntra. Teams are very friendly and approachable and they would help you understand things and onboard quickly. We have No-meeting days and virtual fun events every week to break out from any stress and have a great work-life balance. Everyone in the organization is easily approachable, including the leadership board. What else can a new employee need?  In one sentence, as Myntra says “This is the world of awesome.”
