My internship with TAS was a dish which was sweet, spicy, and tangy all at once! -By Vaibhav Wadhwa from IIM Kozhikode
I started my internship with TAS from April this year, and without a doubt, it has to be one of the best experiences of my life. During my time with Tata Administrative Services, or TAS, I have gained tremendously from the programme by getting international exposure, professional growth, and lifelong career mobility.
Interning from home
Back in April, with the announcement of a nationwide lockdown due to the pandemic, I was forced to do my internship with TAS from the four walls of my home. My plans of running late to the office with a cup of coffee in my hand, and experiencing the corporate world were brutally shattered by coronavirus.
Nevertheless, my supervisors were quite helpful in helping us interns adjust to the world of TAS. In fact, I am grateful for my appraiser, who always encouraged me and kept me on my feet during work. Every day was a new page to be explored in the chapter of my internship with TAS. The people I worked with provided me with valuable knowledge and insight, which I will definitely be applying in the future!
Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity
The premier leadership program under my internship with TAS is designed in such a way that it provides the interns with training to become general managers and functional specialists, based on the needs of the Tata group of companies. Cross-functional training enables movement across the border between various business segments.
I consider myself lucky enough to have been a part of this program, and contribute in whatever capacity I could while interning from home. The innovative way in which the program is curated makes it a wonderful dish that is sweet, tangy, and spicy all at once. My internship with TAS trained me to have a hands-on approach to any problem, and develop the rigour to become a leader, which is what makes this a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
