An internship opportunity that focuses on the practical elements is crucial for civil engineering. It can help them gain valuable experience and apply it when they set out for full-time roles as civil engineers. The objective of the internship by NHAI is to help students to gain an insight into the type of work they will do as civil engineers. It also equips them with the capability to conduct projects on their own.
The selected interns for the NHAI internship will have to work on various projects under the Ministry of Road, Transport, and Highways. Remember that this internship program is focused on students in their final year of B.Tech/ M.Tech who have a minimum CGPA of 7.
Interns who are pursuing their bachelor's will receive a stipend of INR 10,000 per month and interns pursuing masters will receive a stipend of INR 15,000 per month.
Selected interns will work in various domains such as road design, mechanical processing as well as the construction of roads. Students will also gather experience in teamwork, for which they will have to engage in various other departments such as Chemical, Electrical, and Mechanical.
Interns will receive 18 credits from this six-month-long internship, for which one credit will account for 30 hours of practical training.
