NIRF Rankings 2023: IIT Madras Tops Overall, Beats IIT Delhi Again
The Minister of State for Education and External Affairs, Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh released the NIRF 2023 rankings on June 05, 2023. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Madras topped the list for Overall Ranking for the fifth year in a row. IIT Madras was followed by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, and IIT Delhi, in that order.

NIRF refers to the National Institutional Ranking Framework that the Indian Education Ministry has adopted to rank the institutions of higher education in India.
This year, 8,686 applications were received for the rankings compared to 7,254 received last year. Though the competition got fiercer, IIT Madras retained its position from 2022- along with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, and Miranda House. Under NIRF 2023 rankings, IIM Ahmedabad topped the list for best management colleges, while Miranda ranked first for best colleges.
