NTPC recruitment drive 2021: Apply now, salary up to INR 2,00,000

India’s power leader- National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) is looking for medical and finance professionals. The power conglomerate has an installed capacity of 66,885 MW. Commensurate with our country’s growth challenges, it aims to attain a total installed capacity of 130 GW by 2032. In its 2021 recruitment drive and selection process, NTPC is hiring for the position of Medical specialists (General Medicine, Pediatrics) and Assistant Officer (Finance) for its projects/stations.

Qualification and experiences

The primary eligibility criteria for any candidate who is applying for the post of the medical specialist (General Medicine) should have an MBBS along with an MD/DNB in General Medicine. For Pediatrics, the candidate should have an MBBS with MD/DNB in Pediatrics or MBBS with PG Diploma in Child Health. All the qualifications should be recognized by the National Medical Commission (formerly the Medical Council of India).

What is to be noted is that candidates who are recruited in E3 grade with MD/DNB qualification will be placed in E4 grade after 1 year of experience.

Candidates applying to the post of Assistant Officer (Finance) should certainly have qualified CA or ICWA. As far as the experience profile is concerned, applicants should have post-qualification experience in the area of Accounts/ Finance/ Internal Audit preferably in a large organization/s of repute. The experience requirement for applying to this post is at least 1-year post-qualification experience in the relevant field (excluding training period, if any).

Vacancies and pay scale

The category wise vacancy for the positions of Medical Specialist and Assistant Officers are:

The pay scale for Medical Specialists for E3 Level ranges from INR 60,000 to INR 1,80,000. On the other hand, the salary in the same field for the E4 Level is between INR 70,000 to INR 2,00,000.

For the position of Assistant Officer in the field of Finance, the pay range is between INR 30,000 to INR 1,20,000.

As far as the age criteria are concerned, candidates must keep in mind that the upper age limit or the maximum age limit to apply for the position of Medical Specialist is 37 years and for Assistant Officer, it is 30 years. 

How to apply at NTPC?

Interested applicants can log on to the website www.ntpccareers.net or visit the careers section at www.ntpc.co.in to apply. The recruitment process will take place via these channels only and no other means/modes of application will be accepted, as declared by the NTPC. Candidates are required to possess a valid email ID. 

Candidates who are from the General/EWS/OBC Non-Creamy Layer category are required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of INR 300. The SC/ST/PwBD/EXSM category and women candidates do not have to pay any registration fee. The payment of application fees should be done online.

Interested candidates should verify their eligibility criteria, educational details, and basic details before applying and paying the fee. Once the online application process is over, the applicant must download the registration slip generated by the system with a unique registration number. No documents should be sent to NTPC directly via post.
