Parle-G is one such biscuit that is loved by all age groups. It doesn't matter whether you are a child or an adult, this biscuit has been a part of your grocery list at some point in your life. Parle-G has been savouring the taste of success for about eight decades now and is still considered People's favorite. Even in the current situation, when the world is facing a pandemic, it is the go-to biscuit of everyone.
As per the recent update by the Parle Group, this biscuit has recorded very good sales in the past three months. As the packet is priced at merely five rupees, it is extremely economical for everyone. The packets of Parle-G are being preferred by migrant workers who are on a trail to reach their homes, are being distributed to the needy, and are even stocked by people. Mayank Shah, the category lead at Parle products shared that the market of Parle has grown by 5% out of which around 80% to 90% sales has been contributed by Parle-G.
The focus for companies currently is on producing products that drive maximum sales. Parle increased the production of Parle-G as it is a low-value brand that is highly preferred by consumers and it even made changes to the distribution channel to ensure its availability in all the shops. Parle-G is considered comfort food by many and those who are unable to afford bread are purchasing this biscuit instead, making it a perfect substitute for food. Parle products are even being asked to by the state governments to keep a check of Parle-G biscuits and NGOs are coming forward to purchase this particular brand of biscuit only.
Though the demand for low price biscuits is declining everywhere and a shift to premium biscuit brands is being observed. But still, Parle-G has succeeded in attaining record-breaking sales all across the country in this lockdown period when compared to its competitors.
Parle-G is slowly taking over the market and is rebuilding itself as the common man's biscuit.
