Registrations begin for GATE 2021, examination on 5th Feb

The online registration process for GATE 2021 has begun. IIT Bombay commenced the application process on its official website gate.iitb.ac.in. Aspiring candidates are advised to apply online by September 30th, 2020 so that they do not pay any late fees. 7th October 2020 is the last day when candidates can submit their online application, along with the late fee.

IIT Bombay already mentioned in its official notification that GATE 2021 will be conducted between February 5th, 2021 to February 14th, 2021, in two shifts per day. The earlier shift will start from 9 AM and end by 12 noon and the timing of the later shift is from 3 PM to 6 PM. The institution has also announced the date when the results of GATE 2021 will be announced, which is March 22nd, 2021.

Other updates of GATE 2021

Candidates appearing for the examination will have to pay INR 1,500 per paper. Accordingly, this amount will be increased to INR 2,000 per paper from October 1st to October 7th, 2020. As far as females and students of reserved categories are concerned, they are required to pay a sum of INR 750 per paper, which will be increased to INR 1,250 for applying late.

November 13th, 2020 is the last day for candidates to make changes with respect to their paper, exam city and category to their application form. For this, they will have to pay additional fees. Candidates must have a graduation (Bachelor’s) degree in engineering or a Master's degree in a relevant science subject to be eligible to sit for GATE 2021.

How to apply?

Aspiring candidates of GATE 2021 are advised to visit the official website at gate.iitb.ac.in and click the link that reads ‘GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS).’ 

They should then click on ‘New User’ in order to fill in the required details to complete the registration process. Candidates would then be required to sign in using their registered mail id and then answer the particulars in the application form.

Scanned documents, images and signatures should be kept in handy while applying for the examination. The last step is where they pay the application fees online.
