Scholarship strengthens access to quality education for students with great potential. It bridges the financial gap and allows students to focus on their studies without worrying about how they will pay for their education. To help students realize their dreams and achieve new heights, the Reliance Foundation aims to support more than 5000 young talents by lifting their financial burden through amazing scholarships on Dhirubhai Ambani’s 90th birth anniversary. These scholarships will benefit Indian undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Scholarship for undergraduate students
This scholarship aims to support first-year meritorious undergraduate students from across the nation pursuing any degree of their choice. It will be awarded to nearly 5000 scholars on a merit-cum-means basis.
Perks of the undergraduate scholarships
Over the course of their degree program, selected scholars will get a grant of up to 2 lakhs. Along with the scholarship money, the Reliance Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships will give recipients the chance to join an active alumni network and a supportive network that will have a long-term impact on their personal and professional trajectories.
Eligibility criteria for undergraduate scholarships
Interested candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria, apart from having leadership potential, community commitment, and a growth mindset:
- They must be a resident of India
- Have passed 12th standard with a minimum of 60% marks
- They are in the first year of a full-time undergraduate degree in any stream
- Have a household income of less than INR 15 lakhs. (Although, preference will be given to candidates with a household income of less than INR 2.5 lakhs).
The selection process for undergraduate scholarships
The selection for undergraduate scholarships will happen in four stages:
- Eligibility questionnaire: Interested candidates must fill out the eligibility form.
- Submission of application form: This would require students to submit personal, academic, and extra-curricular details. Students need to keep their Personal Statement, Statement of Purpose, and supporting documents handy.
- Aptitude test: Students will have to take 60-minute online test that contains 60 MCQs. This will test their verbal ability, analytical and logical ability, and numerical ability.
- Evaluation stage: This is the final level of selection where the applications will be evaluated by an expert panel.
Scholarship for postgraduate students
The Reliance Foundation seeks to identify and provide generous grants to 100 postgraduate students who are pursuing their studies in the field of science and technology in order to foster a new era of growth and discover sustainable solutions.
Perks of postgraduate scholarships
An overall grant of up to INR 6 lakhs will be provided throughout the duration of the degree program. At the beginning of each academic year, 80% of the money will be distributed in advance for tuition and other direct academic costs. In order to assist professional growth, the remaining 20% of the money will be made available upon request. This will assist the indirect academic and personal development expenditures like conference-related costs.
A vibrant community of scholars will be at the forefront of forming and constructing a new India, and scholars will gain from additional engagement and development opportunities (such as the chance to attend talks and workshops with top global experts, opportunities to apply for mentoring/internships, volunteering opportunities, a strong alumni network, and more).
Eligibility criteria for postgraduate scholarships
Apart from demonstrating integrity, courage, and excellence, interested candidates must meet the following criteria:
- They must be an Indian citizen
- First-year PG students who secured a score of 550 or above in the GATE examination.
- Or, students who didn’t attempt GATE but scored a 7.5 CGPA or above in an undergraduate degree.
- Eligible degree programs- Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics & Computing, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable & New Energy, Material, Science & Engineering, and Life Sciences.
The selection process for postgraduate scholarship
The selection for this scholarship will happen in five stages:
- Eligibility questionnaire: Interested candidates must fill out the eligibility form.
- Submission of application form: This would require students to submit personal, academic, and extra-curricular details. Additionally, two letters of recommendation— one attesting to their academic capabilities and the other attesting to their character and leadership traits— will be required. Students need to keep their Personal Statement, Statement of Purpose, and supporting documents handy.
- Aptitude test: Students will have to take a 60-minute online test that contains 60 MCQs. This will test their verbal ability, analytical and logical ability, and numerical ability.
- Evaluation stage: This is the first-level selection where the applications will be evaluated by an expert panel.
- Interview stage: This is the second-level selection where interviewers will be held online by the expert panel.
