Sapient Triathlon 2018- Experience Myriad Challenges

Sapient is an American marketing and consulting multinational company that provides business, marketing and technology services to clients across many countries around the globe. Sapient is the digital transformation partner to some of the biggest global brands. It drives digital transformation with digital business strategy and innovation, customer experience, marketing modernization, IT modernization, commerce, Data & Artificial intelligence.

To keep up with its digital transformation drive Sapient has come up with an innovative way by conducting Sapient Triathlon in the year 2018. Sapient Triathlon 2018 was a competition which included Quiz, Hackathon and Simulation game was open to all the 3rd and 4th year engineering students across India. It was conducted between 26th March to 30th March 2018.

The participants were required to register individually on Dare2Compete. Sapient Triathlon 2018 had three different rounds which are:

Analytical Hackathon Quiz (Non-Coding)

In this round participants had to analyse huge data sets to make sense out of them and answer analytical business-oriented questions on a specific domain. Participants get nearly an hour to analyse the data and answer some thought-provoking questions.

Coding Hackathon

Participants had to use Programming to pass through 4 different coding challenges in 3 hours with a varied difficulty level. View the details of the competition here.

IT Simulation Game

In this round participants would manage a complete IT project with the set of given resources. This round had been designed to give a real-life professional feeling to the participants.

After successfully acing all the three rounds, Ankit from IIT, Roorkee grabbed the first position, followed by Rajat Singh from Punjabi University (PU), Patiala, Vikas Singh from Army Institute of Technology (AIT), Pune secured the third position followed by many other qualified candidates. The top winner was awarded an iPhone X, while the next two winners take home a MacBook Pro each. Over 50 Pre-placement Interviews (PPI) for students graduating in 2018 & 2019 are up for grabs.

Top 50 candidates as per the overall leaderboard also had an opportunity to be a part of the Sapient family & join them in their endeavour of creating digital experiences that reimagine how businesses engage with customers today.

Sapient Triathlon 2018 had been unique in many ways, however, its variable structure had been a great learning experience for the students. It gave them better exposure to analytics, programming and managerial skills.
