TAPMI Manipal grabs Indian Management Conclave (IMC) gold award 2018

Indian Management Conclave (IMC) was held for the 9th time at Bengaluru on 3rd to 4th August 2018. and this year’s gold award for excellence in management education was bagged by T. A. Pai Management Institute located in Manipal.

Happy Paul, Associate Professor, and Aditya Jadhav, Chairman-Admissions of TAPMI had presented with a case study titled ‘Leadership Assessment and Development Centre (LADC)’ under Pedagogy for Developing Job Competencies in MBA and it made to the top. Another case study by Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai on ‘Developing a Business Analytics Major’ by S Bhardwaj, Bala and Vasantha Balachandran was awarded the silver medal and the bronze award was bagged by Sandeep Bhardwaj, Dean – Academics from Vivekanand Education Society Institute of Management Studies and Research (VESIM), Mumbai, for his contributory case study on ‘Active Learning Through On-Field.’

In the ‘Experiential learning for meeting programme learning goals’ section Meena Galliara, Director, Jasani Centre for Social Entrepreneurship & Sustainability Management, School of Business Management, NMIMS University was declared as gold winner for her case study on  ‘We care – civic engagement internship, for developing socially sensitive managers.’

The silver award winner was Sanjay Choudhari, Faculty-in-Charge, HOP, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore who had presented a study on ‘Himalayan Outbound Programme (HOP).’

R Deepa, Assistant Professor, PSG Institute of Management, Coimbatore presented  ‘Teaching cross-cultural communication through theatre play – An experiential learning initiative’ at the conclave and became the Bronze winner.

IMC Award winners have done exceptional work to improve their pedagogy for producing highly employable MBAs that meet the Industry 4.0 requirements.”

The awards were presented to the winners by Kamal Bali, MD, Volvo India.

The conclave commenced with a session on ‘Leveraging Technology to Enhance Learning in MBA Program’ which was graced by the speech of VG Narayanan, Professor and Chair, MBA Elective Curriculum at Harvard Business School who chose to share his insights on ‘Effective Use of Technology in MBA Curriculum & Pedagogy’ and PD Jose, Professor and Chairperson, Digital Learning, IIM Bangalore, also enlightened the visiting dignitaries and the guests on the role of MOOCs and digital platforms in MBA programme.
