The Case Construe: Out of adversity comes opportunity

“Do not limit your challenges. Challenge your limits.” An event that propels the participants to deploy their intellect and reasoning in their venture through the corporate world, Case Construe is organized by Xavier's Commerce Society, the most prestigious and sought-after society in St. Xavier's College, Kolkata. Having showcased its expertise in organizing events all throughout the year, Xavier’s Commerce Society has received immense recognition and adulation for its role in helping students develop the disposition and dexterity required for reigning supreme in the corporate world.

Case Construe has received avid participation from young business enthusiasts representing eminent commerce, management, and economic universities from all over the world to test the limits of their skills. Contending arduous adversities and challenging all odds demonstrates the spirit of Case Construe. All in all, the event comprises rounds that are bound to push you beyond your limits.

Portfolio management

With the quest to decipher and conquer the highly volatile and uncertain investment world, this event summons participants to unshackle their diffidence and prove their mettle in this unpredictable and unforeseeable simulation through their immaculate decision making and calculation abilities. Risk-taking is an inevitable ingredient in investing, and in life, but avoid taking risks you don't have to. Diversify prudently to negate risks and capitalize on opportunities to amplify assurance of profits.

Preliminary round

This event is characterized by brain-racking questions that are designed precisely to defy the limits of your knowledge of the entrepreneurial world. Designed as an elimination round, each participant will have to solve a questionnaire consisting of 10 questions which shall test your acumen and practical application of the corporate knowledge. Based on your expertise, a separate questionnaire will be provided for each event namely, Best Manager, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Human Resource, Marketing, and Public and International Relations.

Final round

Having ambitiously maneuvered your way through the increasingly complex and exigent questions in the first round itself, the event moves on to the nexus of case studies where each participant has to conquer this final obstacle with unwavering resolutions, showcasing their prowess in comprehensively analyzing the problem posed in front of them and devising viable and innovative strategies to alleviate the crisis at hand. Separate case studies shall be provided for each event namely, Best Manager, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Human Resource, Marketing, and Public and International Relations.
