The fifth edition of the International Astronomy and Space Olympiad is here!
The Astronautical Society of the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Infinity Space Club has been organizing a plethora of events, workshops, and observation nights since 2014. This year again the club is back with the fifth edition of the International Astronomy and Space Olympiad, a free event with amazing cash prizes for the top two participants.
This event has been held annually for the past four years with candidates participating from all across the world. If you are a space enthusiast or an astronomy lover, then this is just the right event for you. It does not matter if you are a school student or a college student, this event is open to all, there is no age limit.
Apart from International Astronomy and Space Olympiad, the club has also organized a National level fest on two occasions, under the name of Renaissance: National Space Convention, which was covered extensively by national as well as regional news outlets garnering a lot of praise. The chief guest for the most recent edition of the fest was the missile woman of India, Dr.Tessy Thomas where she delivered an enlightening lecture for all the participants. Not just this, the list of such guest lectures and webinars with esteemed industry personnel is endless. And this pandemic has not been able to put a stop to their aim of bringing exciting and interactive events for their members.
Major highlights
The event will take place on the Dare2Compete website on 27, 28 and 29th November 2020. The window will remain open on these three days and the test can be attempted at any point in time. However, there will be only one fair attempt for each participant. The quiz will have questions related to the basics of astronomy, orbital mechanics, physics, and other topics related to space. It is a simple Olympiad with 30 questions, which need to be attempted in under 30 minutes.
The first and second prize for this event is INR 5000 and INR 3000 respectively. This event is for school as well as college students.
